After posting 5 of their videos this school year alone, Perez Hilton has brought millions of viewers, both directly and indirectly, into the world of the PS22 Chorus. Big thanks for believing in these kids, and for raising awareness to the importance of music and the arts in education. Indebted. So when I found out he wanted a Lady Gaga song, I was a little petrified! I honestly didn't know if we could pull something like that off. But the kids were asking for Lady Gaga themselves, so I put it on them to rewrite some of the lyrics to "Just Dance" to make it something that would be okay for school. And with just a little lyrical tweaking on their part, they totally recreated this song. I dare say ithey completely ROCK IT!!! Along with the two Tori Amos (Flavor and Gold Dust) and Bjork (One Day, Joga) songs we did this year, this might be my favorite cover out of this year's group. LOVE LOVE LOVE it!! And as you see the kids do too! Tirzah sounds absolutely amazing on the leads, and makes you remember why she won the PS22 American Idol 3 last year when she was in 4th grade with the Leona Lewis song, Bleeding Love (check it out if you haven't seen it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZbuDB6rokA ) And Mariah does an awesome rap and adds her incredible charm and personality to the video all around! En siglos pasados, Mexico tuvo la fortuna de ser cuna y hogar de grandes compositores que desde hermosas catedrales ofrecieron su talento y alabanzas ad Maiorem Gloriam Dei, gracias al mecenazgo de la Santa Iglesia Catolica. El trabajo de importantes musicólogos, investigadores e interpretes mexicanos y extranjeros trajo a la luz por vez primera en siglos el magnifico arte musical albergado en archivos catedralicios Mexicanos; ello ha dejado al descubierto obras con un profundo valor historico y musical. El Centro de Música Barroca Manuel de Sumaya tiene por metas las siguientes: * La fundacion en la Ciudad de México, de un centro dedicado a rescatar de la pesante lapida del silencio, musica sacra y secular compuesta por compositores mexicanos en el transcurso de los ss. [View \| Download]	PROYECTO: "CENTRO DE MÚSICA BARROCA MANUEL DE SUMAYA" CORO Y ORQUESTA. El Centro de Música Barroca Manuel de Sumaya es el más ambicioso artístico jamás llevado a cabo en México. En siglos pasados, Mexico tuvo la fortuna de ser cuna y hogar de grandes compositores que desde hermosas catedrales ofrecieron su talento y alabanzas ad Maiorem Gloriam Dei, gracias al mecenazgo de la Santa Iglesia Catolica. El trabajo de importantes musicólogos, investigadores e interpretes mexicanos y extranjeros trajo a la luz por vez primera en siglos el magnifico arte musical albergado en archivos catedralicios Mexicanos; ello ha dejado al descubierto obras con un profundo valor historico y musical. El Centro de Música Barroca Manuel de Sumaya tiene por metas las siguientes: * La fundacion en la Ciudad de México, de un centro dedicado a rescatar de la pesante lapida del silencio, musica sacra y secular compuesta por compositores mexicanos en el transcurso de los ss. XVII y XVIII. * El centro musicologico proyectado contaria con un cuerpo de musicologos, academicos para formar una orquesta y un coro profesionales especializados en el repertorio, basados en una correcta interpretación históricamente informada; un recinto con aulas de estudio, una biblioteca para resguardar facsimilares musicales, sala de ensayos. * La orquesta y el coro se encargarian de la difusion de la musica obtenida por el centro musicologico; tendrian temporadas regulares de conciertos, en catedrales y templos, asi como en salas y teatros de todo México y el mundo; asimismo se llevarian a cabo grabaciones del repertorio. * El centro musicologico, habria de redescubrir partituras y realizar ediciones criticas modernas de la musica. * Se iniciaría una ardua búsqueda para dar con el paradero de las primeras óperas mexicanas: "El Rodrigo" y "La Parténope" de Manuel de Sumaya, ya sea en archivos catedralicios, bibliotecas o archivos privados. * Buscar mecenazgo de entidades gubernamentales, privadas o religiosas, para las necesidades económicas del Centro, y para dotar de un apoyo o salario a los músicos, musicólogos, académicos y luthiers. Ha studiato clavicembalo con Mireille Podeur presso il Département de Musique Ancienne dello stesso Conservatorio ed il pianoforte sotto la rinomata guida della pianista Elzbieta Glabowna. Partecipando a molti stages di perfezionamento quali l'Académie d'Orgue de Saint Dié des Vosges et la Semaine de l'Orgue Italien ha potuto ha potuto giovarsi dell'insegnamento di molti illustri musicisti quali: Jean Boyer, Harald Vogel, Michel Chapuis et Jean Pierre Leguay per l'improvvisazione. La sua attività concertistica, ormai pluriennale, che esordisce in collaborazione con Bernard Lagacé per l'esecuzione integrale dell'Arte della Fuga di J.S. Bach al Festival musicale di Saint Maximin la Sainte Baume,oggi si svolge internazionalmente tra Italia, Francia, Germania, Lussemburgo, Spagna, Svizzera. Tra i più prestigiosi Festivals ed eventi musicali ai quali ha partecipato come solista, con coro e con orchestra si ricordano: il Festival de Musique sacrée de Nice, Festival « Estate Leonardiana » a Imperia (Italia), Festival de Musique Sacrée de Gêne, Strasbourg, Dieppe, Alsfeld (Germania). Gli ultimi concerti proposti lo hanno visto interprete sia al Festival internazionale di Carcasonne, di Le Havre, e della Badia di Camaiore in Toscana. Oltre ad un attento studio del periodo tardo rinascimentale e barocco è sempre più fitto l'interesse e l'esecuzione della letteratura musicale contemporanea dalla quale nasce la collaborazione con importanti compositori italiani come Massimo Trotta e Claudio Vaira dal quale nascono nuovi progetti discografici. Giorgio REVELLI, oltre ad essere stato nominato membro di delegazione del Fai per la sezione di Imperia , cura consulenze di paleografia musicale per gli Archivi di Stato italiani. Nel marzo 2004 viene nominato direttore del coro « Cantores Bormani » di Imperia (Italia) in occasione del 25° anniversario di fondazione.
