Shot in stunningly bright black and while in 1953, just eight years after the war's end and featuring narration co-written by the great James Agee, White Mane takes us to a vast marsh in southern France where herds of wild horses roam free. The horse known as White Mane, who stands out because of his coloration, is a herd leader and much sought after by the French cowboys who ride around the marsh trying to capture and break horses. Les images montrent trois jeunes infligeant un coup de sabre à un cheval, avant dassister sans retenue à sa mort. Ce clip dune minute 27 seconde circule actuellement sur le Web. La police a été alertée. Le Mauritius Turf Club (MTC) a initié une enquête interne alors que la MSPCA veut que les coupables soient punis en vertu de la loi. Sur la vidéo, probablement filmée par un complice du trio, on voit un adolescent utilisant un sabre pour faire une sévère entaille au cou du cheval. Saignant abondamment, le coursier est resté sur ses pattes pendant toute la durée de la scène. A larrière, on entend des voix, des plaisanteries fusent Les deux autres protagonistes semblent assister émerveillés au spectacle macabre Dans un premier temps, les expéditeurs de ce clip avaient mentionné le nom dun ex-coursier, l'alezan «Methodical Man». Toutefois au niveau du MTC, on est catégorique : « On a eu confirmation. Ce nest pas «Methodical Man». Ce coursier a été placé dans un centre à Floréal. Tout porte à croire que ce serait «Mythical Man». Mais là aussi, nous ne sommes pas sûrs sil sagit bien de ce cheval. «Mythical Man» navait pas de marking sur le corps, donc cest assez difficile de se prononcer là-dessus. Le Mauritius Turf Club nest pas resté insensible. «Nous avons ouvert une enquête pour connaître lidentité du cheval », a déclaré M. Khalid Rawat, du MTC. Lenquête policière devrait retracer lidentité des auteurs de cet acte dune rare barbarie.
