The Autobots managed to smuggle the Allspark off the planet, but Megatron blasted off in search of it. He eventually tracked it to the planet of Earth (circa 1850), but his reckless desire for power sent him right into the Arctic Ocean, and the sheer cold forced him into a paralyzed state. His body was later found by Captain Archibald Witwicky, and before going into a comatose state Megatron used the last of his energy to engrave a map, showing the location of the Allspark, into the Captain's glasses, and send a transmission to Cybertron. He is then carted away by the Captain's ship. A century later, Sam Witwicky, nicknamed Spike by his friends, buys his first car. To his shock, he discovers it to be Bumblebee, an Autobot in disguise who is to protect Spike, as he bears the Captain's glasses and the map carved on them. But Bumblebee is not the only Transformer to have arrived on Earth - in the desert of Qatar, the Decepticons Blackout and Scorponok attack a U.S. military base, causing the Pentagon to send their special Sector Seven agents to capture all "specimens of this alien race," and Spike and his girlfriend Mikaela find themselves in the middle of a grand battle between the Autobots and the Decepticons, stretching from Hoover Dam all the way to Los Angeles. Meanwhile, within the depths of Hoover Dam, the cryogenically stored form of Megatron awakens. The band was formed by singer/lead guitarist Shimon Moore and bassist Emma Anzai in the music room of Mosman High School in 1997, where the two connected because of their shared love for Silverchair. Initially with Shimon on drums and Emma on guitars, the duo would frequently meet up to play Green Day, Rage Against the Machine and Silverchair songs and eventually felt compelled to write their own songs. Soon, Chris Mileski was added to the band to fill in on drums. Sick Puppies started attracting national attention when their song "Nothing Really Matters" won Triple J's Unearthed in 2001. Later that year, they released their debut album called Welcome to the Real World and were voted for "Best Live Performance" at a rock festival in Sydney. This album was initially supposed to feature a humorous cover version of Destiny's Child's hit single "Say My Name", performed in a post grunge/nu metal style, however the song was not included due to the threat of a lawsuit by Destiny's Child's record label. It was leaked, however, and is readily available and easy to find on the internet on websites and P2P networks. The band is currently based in Los Angeles. Their last EP, Headphone Injuries, was digitally released in June 2006. They have also released a single/video from this album called "My World". On September 26, 2006, Sick Puppies digitally released a new single called "All the Same", a song which is featured in the video of Juan Mann's, a man in Sydney famous for initiating the Free Hugs Campaign. The video (which has received over 15 million hits on YouTube already) has helped the band gain airplay in the United States and Canada. The song recently peaked at #16 on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart. Sick Puppies' second album, Dressed Up as Life came out on April 3, 2007 via Virgin Records. But Chase copied the key to the studio and the crew secretly practiced their routine late at night when the school was empty. Missy, joins the crew after dropping out of the 410 following Andie's removal. Missy told the crew that the only way to enter the streets is to first do a prank and post it on the internet to show that the crew is entering the competition. Wanting revenge from being humiliated before, Chase decides for their prank they were going to make a fool out of Tuck, leader of the 410, and also left a dead fish in the vent of Tuck's home. But the 410 didn't like the fact that they had a new crew to compete with so they warned Andie's new crew to stay out of the Streets or there would be consequences. Eventually Chase and Andie fall in love with each other. But when Tuck found out where Chase was, he assaulted him because of his prank. This left Chase coming into school the next day badly bruised and hurt. On top of that the dance studio was trashed by the 410 late at night and people noticed it when they were in school. Director Collins had no choice but to expel Andie from MSA because of her involvement with the 410 earlier on. When Andie's foster mother heard the news she told Andie that she had enough and that Andie would be going to Texas and that was final. It seemed the crew and Andie's relationship with Chase was coming to an end. When Andie was packing her bags to leave to Texas she received a text message that the Streets was on that night, the same night as the fund raising MSA was hosting. The rest of the crew received the message as well and Chase decided to make a stand for what he believed was right and left the fund raiser to go find Andie, with the rest of the crew following him. When they got Andie, they went to the streets and won the competition. In the end Andie and Chase had their first long romantic kiss with each other and the 410 was defeated after 5 long years. The Story of Stone Soup The Story of Stone Soup Once upon a time there was a great famine in which people jealously hoarded whatever food they could find, hiding it even from their friends and neighbours. Three soldiers trudged down a road in a strange country. They were on their way home from the wars. Besides being tired, they were hungry. In fact, they had eaten nothing for two days. "How I would like a good dinner tonight," said the first. "And a bed to sleep in," added the second. "But that is impossible," said the third. On they marched, until suddenly, ahead of them, they saw the lights of a village. "Maybe we'll find a bite to eat and a bed to sleep in," they thought. Now the peasants of the place feared strangers. When they heard that three soldiers were coming down the road, they talked among themselves. "Here come three soldiers," they said. "Soldiers are always hungry. But we have so little for ourselves." And they hurried to hide their food. They hid the barley in haylofts, carrots under quilts, and buckets of milk down the wells. They hid all they had to eat. Then they waited. The soldiers stopped at the first house. "Good evening to you," they said. "Could you spare a bit of food for three hungry soldiers?" "We have no food for ourselves," the residents lied. "It has been a poor harvest." The soldiers went to the next house. "Could you spare a bit of food?" they asked. "And do you have a corner where we could sleep for the night?" "Oh, no," the man said. "We gave all we could spare to the soldiers who came before you." "And our beds are full," lied the woman. At each house, the response was the same -- no one had food or a place for the soldiers to stay. The peasants had very good reasons, like feeding the sick and children. The villagers stood in the street and sighed. They looked as hungry as they could. The soldiers talked together. The first soldier called out, "Good people! We are three hungry soldiers in a strange land. We have asked you for food and you have no food. Well, we will have to make stone soup." The peasants stared. The soldiers asked for a big iron pot, water to fill it, and a fire to heat it. "And now, if you please, three round smooth stones." The soldiers dropped the stones into the pot. "Any soup needs salt and pepper," the first soldier said, so children ran to fetch salt and pepper. "Stones make good soup, but carrots would make it so much better," the second soldier added. One woman said, "Why, I think I have a carrot or two!" She ran to get the carrots. "A good stone soup should have some cabbage, but no use asking for what we don't have!" said the third soldier. Another woman said, "I think I can probably find some cabbage," and off she scurried. "If only we had a bit of beef and some potatoes, this soup would be fit for a rich man's table." The peasants thought it over, then ran to fetch what they had hidden in their cellars. A rich man's soup, and all from a few stones! It seemed like magic! The soldiers said, "If only we had a bit of barley and some milk, this soup would be fit for a king!" And so the peasants managed to retrieve some barley and milk. "The soup is ready," said the cooks, "and all will taste it, but first we need to set the tables." Tables and torches were set up in the square, and all sat down to eat. Some of the peasants said, "Such a great soup would be better with bread and cider," so they brought forth the last two items and the banquet was enjoyed by all. Never had there been such a feast. Never had the peasants tasted such delicious soup, and all made from stones! They ate and drank and danced well into the night. The soldiers asked again if there was a loft where they might sleep for the night. "Oh, no!" said the town folk. "You wise men must have the best beds in the village!" So one soldier spent the night in the priest's house, one in the baker's house, and one in the mayor's house. In the morning, the villagers gathered to say goodbye. "Many thanks to you," the people said, "for we shall never go hungry now that you have taught us how to make soup from stones!" The moral of the story is that by working together and everyone contributing just a little, a greater good is achieved. NEW today: http://cieon.me Boys and girls, it's another episode of UP CLOSE with Carrie Keagan featuring Midnight Meat Train and today we hanging out at the NGTV Studio Bar, known as the Shark Tank, none other than the Vinnie Jones. The Midnight Meat Train is a 2008 horror film based on Clive Barker's 1984 short story of the same name, which can be found in Volume One of Barker's collection Books of Blood. The film follows a photographer who attempts to track down a serial killer dubbed the "Subway Butcher" and discovers more than he bargained for under the city streets. The film stars Bradley Cooper, Leslie Bibb, Brooke Shields, Roger Bart, and Vinnie Jones. The film was directed by Japanese director Ryuhei Kitamura and stars Bradley Cooper, Leslie Bibb, Vinnie Jones and Brooke Shields. Its script was adapted by Jeff Buhler, the producer was Tom Rosenberg of Lakeshore Entertainment, and it was released on August 1, 2008. Producer Joe Daley, a long time friend of Buhler's, brought the two writers together and helped develop the script, along with producers Anthony Diblasi and Jorge Saralegui, for their newly minted horror factory The Midnight Picture Company. As of this entry, The Midnight Picture Company was busy shooting Book of Blood, the next film adaptation from the anthology of short stories that spawned Midnight Meat Train. Photographer Leon goes into the city's subway system at night to take photographs. He saves a woman who is attacked by a gang by pointing out the videocamera. This young woman goes missing by the next day. Leon later finds clues in the photos he has taken that lead him to discover that butcher Mahogany is involved and may be a serial killer, and that there have been people going missing in the subway for at least a hundred years. Leon's involvement quickly turns into a dark obsession, upsetting Maya and leading her into her own investigations when Leon returns home severely wounded. Maya and an acquaintance named Jurgis investigate the butcher using the photographs Leon has been taking. After breaking and entering the butcher's home, Jurgis is captured. The police will not believe Maya's story, and the police's involvement with the butcher is revealed when a policewoman leads a misguided Maya onto the late train. Leon, unaware of Maya's involvement, prepares himself to kill the butcher and end the horror. The climactic battle ensues and Mahogany is killed, but Leon and Maya find that the bodies being slaughtered are actually food for dark, unnamed creatures at the end of the track. A supernaturally strong train conductor murders Maya while a wounded Leon watches on, and then forces Leon into slavery as the new butcher. The last scene has Leon wearing a ring with eight stars, the same ring Mahogany had. A television reports an European union conference as the policewoman sends Leon off for the day, hinting at international involvement in some type of cult.
