Presented by Ant & Dec, it is a search for Britain's next best talent act, featuring singers, dancers, comedians, variety acts, and other talents of all ages. The show was originally planned to air in 2005 (before America's Got Talent) and be presented by Paul O'Grady. However, after O'Grady's defection to Channel 4 for The Paul O'Grady Show, O'Grady refused to appear in another ITV show, so the series was put on hold after just one rehearsal show Anyone who believed they have talent was encouraged to audition. The winner of both series received £100,000 and are given the opportunity to perform at the Royal Variety Performance in front of members of the Royal Family. The live finals are broadcast from Fountain Studios in Wembley, which is the same studio as Britain's Got Talent's sister show, The X Factor. The show's secondary theme song is "Lux Aeterna" (originally from the movie Requiem for a Dream), which is used to create tension. The first series of the talent show premiered on 9 June 2007, and was broadcast daily with a live final on 17 June 2007, revealing Paul Potts as the first winner. The second series began on 12 April 2008. The final was aired on May 31, 2008, and was won by George Sampson. The third series began on 11 April 2009. The series made its début soon after the conclusion of its U.S. counterpart, America's Got Talent, and is the creation of The X Factor creator and Pop Idol/American Idol judge Simon Cowell who has created a Got Talent series across the globe. On 12 February 2007 it was announced by ITV the judges would be Simon Cowell, Piers Morgan (who had also judged America's Got Talent), and Amanda Holden (a late replacement for Cheryl Cole). Originally the judge line-up would have been Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole and David Hasselhoff, from America's Got Talent. In a similar fashion to The X Factor, the show has an ITV2 counterpart called Britain's Got More Talent, presented by magician and former CITV presenter, Stephen Mulhern. Il Mark Knopfler del 2009 è un cantautore elegante che sfoggia una calda voce da crooner e che predilige le atmosfere acustiche a quelle del pop rock. L'album "Get Lucky", composto da 11 brani, attinge direttamente alle radici della sua giovinezza ed a tutto ciò che gli è caro : dai paesaggi nordici della Scozia, ai suoni delle cornamuse, alle colline ed ai fiumi intorno a Glasgow, alle corse dei motori che da sempre lo hanno intrigato, il tutto legato dalla poesia dei suoi testi e dall'impeccabile armonizzazione dei vari strumenti. Il sesto lavoro da solista di Mark aggiunge, come ciliegina sulla torta dei suoi splendidi 60 anni, l'indiscussa perfezione della registrazione dell'album effettuata ai Knopfler's award-winning British Grove Studios di West London e si laurea senz'altro con lode. "Remembrance Day", i cui proventi saranno devoluti allaRoyal British Legion Poppy Appeal, è un capolavoro assoluto che non ha nulla da invidiare alle gemme del periodo d'oro degli Straits. E' un crescendo di emozioni che culmina con un coro di bambini a espandere il ritornello semplice e geniale (intonato pure dalle figlie del chitarrista) e finalmente la Gibson Les Paul che torna a brillare come ai vecchi tempi, con quelle note che puntano dritte al cuore. The event was inaugurated by Indian acting legend and IIFA Brand Ambassador, Amitabh Bachchan, joined by international starlet Shilpa Shetty. Stars in the VIP crowd included Bipasha Basu and international actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. 'Team IIFA' boasted the cricketing prowess of Kapil Dev, Mohammed Azharuddin, Zayed Khan, Fardeen Khan, Suneil Shetty, Aftab Shivdasani, Riteish Deshmukh, Sohail Khan, Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan. The Bollywood team won the match. The crowd waved Ikonz magazine and IIFA banners displaying the words 'Bollywood Team to Win!' and the number '4'. Supporters also waved Indian and Pakistani flags. There was a huge Mexican wave to conclude the game, which raised money for the IIFA Foundation.
