The lecture was part of a course given by Dimitri Halley at the university of Aruba called: Love, Compassion and Intimacy in Modern Society, Interpersonal Relations and Family. A summary of the overall course follows: Perfect balance, relationship, connection, empathy, agape love, love without conditions, and compassion all point to true love which is the oldest power which is known. Why do we fall out of love? At the highest level of development extreme love is felt. Yet all too often true love and compassion is confused and misunderstood. The module will develop an accurate understanding of love and compassion via a multidisciplinary perspective. This will be done by a comparative approach to Eastern and Western scientific and spiritual traditions and also more modern psycho-therapeutic and social traditions, and also art, poetry, music. The role of the ego versus compassion and love will be considered. Also will be elaborated on how social intervention policy and psycho-social care services can respond with compassion (as an intervention method) to clients and social problems on the different levels of society. Core-concepts to approach love and compassion will be consciousness, systemic, critical and paradoxical thinking. A paradoxical and critical understanding of love will be one of the main objectives of the module.The module offers a practical approach toward applying compassion and unconditional regard in modern societies, family and relations. Finally, the video elaborates on what it is that blocks us from the practice and experience of love, intimacy and compassion as care-givers, Institutions, individuals, families, groups and whole societies. Few, if any, views exist of a solitary female gorilla attacking a male silverback. Very few videos exist of adult gorillas fighting each other, other than of ones showing young gorillas or playing gorillas This video shows a fight between an adult female and a male. The female comes out ahead. Both scream and she hits him several times. In addition very few videos show gorilla vocalization. It this video the gorillas scream at each other.. They also hit each other with their fists in a boxing manner. Few if any videos show this behavior. The individuals gorillas involved in this fight are normally very docile friendly gorillas. They are having a bad day. Although males gorillas are said to be dominant, videos often show that this is untrue. The male of the group is outnumbered by females and when he gets out of line, the females let him know. If he is out of line quite a bit, the females may even replace him. We have more videos of female gorillas in control. Also shown is some mating behavior in the young gorillas and tool use as a gorilla uses a drum for a chair. Also shown is Colo the worlds oldest and first captive-born gorilla. She is watching them because the are in her cage. Colo has a lot of personality in spite of her age. On May 26, 2009, Colo (age 52) escaped her cage and wandered in the hallway. This happened a few days after this video was taken. The zoo closed down for 45 minutes. She finally returned after they offered her yogurt. **The gorilla (gorilla gorilla) is the largest of all living primates. These African apes are divided into two species and 4 or 5 subspecies. Their DNA is 97-98% identical to that of humans and they are considered the next closest relative after the chimpanzee. Gorillas can be over 6 feet tall and weight over 500 lbs. They are highly intelligent. Some such as Koko have been taught a subset of sign language. They use tools for a number of purposes. The Columbus Zoo is the top rated in the country. Nash equilibrium: shopping, standing and voting on a line Game Theory (ECON 159) We first consider the alternative "Bertrand" model of imperfect competition between two firms in which the firms set prices rather than setting quantities. Then we consider a richer model in which firms still set prices but in which the goods they produce are not identical. We model the firms as stores that are on either end of a long road or line. Customers live along this line. Then we return to models of strategic politics in which it is voters that are spread along a line. This time, however, we do not allow candidates to choose positions: they can only choose whether or not to enter the election. In these videos the observation problem is presented in psychological terms of projection and Jungian psychology. The course is called: Love, Compassion and Intimacy in Modern Society, Interpersonal Relations and Family. Perfect balance, relationship, connection, empathy, agape love, love without conditions, and compassion all point to true love which is the oldest power which is known. Why do we fall out of love? At the highest level of development extreme love is felt. Yet all too often true love and compassion is confused and misunderstood. The module will develop an accurate understanding of love and compassion via a multidisciplinary perspective. This will be done by a comparative approach to Eastern and Western scientific and spiritual traditions and also more modern psycho-therapeutic and social traditions, and also art, poetry, music. The role of the ego versus compassion and love will be considered. Also will be elaborated on how social intervention policy and psycho-social care services can respond with compassion (as an intervention method) to clients and social problems on the different levels of society. Core-concepts to approach love and compassion will be consciousness, systemic, critical and paradoxical thinking. A paradoxical and critical understanding of love will be one of the main objectives of the module.The module offers a practical approach toward applying compassion and unconditional regard in modern societies, family and relations. Finally, the video elaborates on what it is that blocks us from the practice and experience of love, intimacy and compassion as care-givers, Institutions, individuals, families, groups and whole societies. Few, if any, views exist of a solitary female gorilla attacking a male silverback. Very few videos exist of adult gorillas fighting each other, other than of ones showing young gorillas or playing gorillas This video shows a fight between an adult female and a male. The female comes out ahead. Both scream and she hits him several times. In addition very few videos show gorilla vocalization. It this video the gorillas scream at each other.. They also hit each other with their fists in a boxing manner. Few if any videos show this behavior. The individuals gorillas involved in this fight are normally very docile friendly gorillas. They are having a bad day. Although males gorillas are said to be dominant, videos often show that this is untrue. The male of the group is outnumbered by females and when he gets out of line, the females let him know. If he is out of line quite a bit, the females may even replace him. We have more videos of female gorillas in control. Also shown is some mating behavior in the young gorillas and tool use as a gorilla uses a drum for a chair. Also shown is Colo the worlds oldest and first captive-born gorilla. She is watching them because the are in her cage. Colo has a lot of personality in spite of her age. On May 26, 2009, Colo (age 52) escaped her cage and wandered in the hallway. This happened a few days after this video was taken. The zoo closed down for 45 minutes. She finally returned after they offered her yogurt. **The gorilla (gorilla gorilla) is the largest of all living primates. These African apes are divided into two species and 4 or 5 subspecies. Their DNA is 97-98% identical to that of humans and they are considered the next closest relative after the chimpanzee. Gorillas can be over 6 feet tall and weight over 500 lbs. They are highly intelligent. Some such as Koko have been taught a subset of sign language. They use tools for a number of purposes. The Columbus Zoo is the top rated in the country. Because of its high attendance, planners are thinking of adding a hotel.
