[View \| Download]	Sukhoi Super Fighters Su-35 and Su-37 (Ария - Чужой) Su-37 is a Russian experimental multi-role fighter aircraft. It is derived from the Su-35. And designed to test advanced engines, electronics, combat, and thrust vectoring systems. Su-37 incorporates the AL-37FU engines equipped with thrust vectoring. The Su-37's nozzles are variable in pitch and travel plus or minus 15 degrees, they can be operated differentially to provide a rolling moment. There are several major system advancments included on the Su-37 and Su-35 including all-weather multi-mode passive electronically scanned array radar with synthetic aperture, terrain avoidance, terrain mapping and a rear-facing radar. The cockpit includes a HOTAS style control system and side stick. The cockpit features four multi-function displays (MFDs) instead of traditional dial-type analogue instruments and has an ejection seat inclined 30 degrees backwards to help counter the effects of high g-forces. The Pilots abilities are further enhanced by the use of Direct Voice Input to produce the so-called "V-TAS" concept, and augmented with helmet mounted display systems such as the "Schlem" used in the MiG-29K and Su-27, which allow the pilot to control various systems using his line of sight, and to guide missiles by simply looking at the target.The two-grip flying control configuration was designed to prevent the pilot from flailing around when the aircraft engaged in fast vectored-thrust manoeuvres. The engine not only incorporates a new generation 3D TVC but also is tough and resistant to engine surge even during classic, inverted and flat spins, giving better reliability and maneuverability, such as when the angle of attack is as high as 180 degrees. The launch from the private island, off the Coromandel Peninsula, in about a fortnight will be the first time in the southern hemisphere a privately owned company has launched a rocket to space. Rocket Lab is holding online auctions both for premium viewing spots on the island and for payload space on the rocket. Chief executive Peter Beck says the rocket, Atea-1, has a 2kg payload capacity and expects interest from commercial parties keen to send products or services into space, or people wanting to send personal mementos. Beck says the project will give the global scientific community the first practical alternative to conventional rockets at significantly lower cost, as it can carry miniature scientific equipment. But the coming launch will be the first in a series where the primary payload will be instrumentation measuring the machine's performance. The small rocket will use a new low-emission hybrid fuel technology. It will travel at Mach 5 to an altitude of 120 kilometres - 20km on from where space starts - then return to Earth in a sub-orbital ballistic arc, to be recovered from the sea. Launch week begins on November 30 and the actual launch day will be dependent on weather conditions. At 10:18 flight LO5055 took off from Warsaw runway 33 for a flight to New York-JFK. The aircraft headed for the GRU VOR, which it passed at FL265, climbing to FL310. Two minutes later (at 10:41) the no. 2 engine Low Pressure turbine shaft broke loose, followed by the failure of the turbine disc. Debris punctured the aft fuselage, causing a fire in the cargo hold. The elevator control system was severed and the no. 1 engine had to be shut down. The flight crew immediately started an emergency descent to 4000m. After shutting down both no. 1 and no. 2 engine the crew mistakenly thought the fire was extinguished. They had decided to land at Modlin airport, but still unaware of the fire, changed to Warsaw-Okecie runway 33 because of better rescue equipment there. The flight started a left turn for runway 33 at 11:09 at an altitude of 1450m and an airspeed of 480km/h. The crew lost control during the turn and the Il-62 crashed into a forest, 6 km from the runway at an airspeed of 465km/h and an 11deg. left bank, 12deg. nose-down. The cause of the accident was the destruction of engine no.2 resulting in disconnection of the longitudinal control system from the control column, cabin depressurisation, damage to the electric system and fire. At the end stage of flight the fire caused the loss of the aircraft longitudinal control and the impact with the ground after 31 minutes as counted from the beginning of the emergency situation. The destruction of engine no.2 occurred without any signal from the warning/testing system. Under the circumstances the crew members were not able to stop the engine in good time, consequently an emergency situation was created on board the aircraft. Strategic Bomber TU-160 with IL-78 and TY-95MC, that imitated the top-up in air. Then came bombers TU-22M3 and assault aviation (low-flying attack aircraft) SU-25. The air parade was closed by flight groups of fighter squadron "Russian Knights" and "Strizhi". This is what I saw out of my window (13th floor). All the aircraft passed at 300 meters height. [View \| Download]	Rocket launch - NZ blasts into space New Zealand aerospace company Rocket Lab is counting down to the historic launch of a space-bound rocket from Great Mercury Island. The launch from the private island, off the Coromandel Peninsula, in about a fortnight will be the first time in the southern hemisphere a privately owned company has launched a rocket to space. Rocket Lab is holding online auctions both for premium viewing spots on the island and for payload space on the rocket. Chief executive Peter Beck says the rocket, Atea-1, has a 2kg payload capacity and expects interest from commercial parties keen to send products or services into space, or people wanting to send personal mementos. Beck says the project will give the global scientific community the first practical alternative to conventional rockets at significantly lower cost, as it can carry miniature scientific equipment. But the coming launch will be the first in a series where the primary payload will be instrumentation measuring the machine's performance. The small rocket will use a new low-emission hybrid fuel technology. It will travel at Mach 5 to an altitude of 120 kilometres - 20km on from where space starts - then return to Earth in a sub-orbital ballistic arc, to be recovered from the sea. Launch week begins on November 30 and the actual launch day will be dependent on weather conditions. At 10:18 flight LO5055 took off from Warsaw runway 33 for a flight to New York-JFK. The aircraft headed for the GRU VOR, which it passed at FL265, climbing to FL310. Two minutes later (at 10:41) the no. 2 engine Low Pressure turbine shaft broke loose, followed by the failure of the turbine disc. Debris punctured the aft fuselage, causing a fire in the cargo hold. The elevator control system was severed and the no. 1 engine had to be shut down. The flight crew immediately started an emergency descent to 4000m. After shutting down both no. 1 and no. 2 engine the crew mistakenly thought the fire was extinguished. They had decided to land at Modlin airport, but still unaware of the fire, changed to Warsaw-Okecie runway 33 because of better rescue equipment there. The flight started a left turn for runway 33 at 11:09 at an altitude of 1450m and an airspeed of 480km/h. The crew lost control during the turn and the Il-62 crashed into a forest, 6 km from the runway at an airspeed of 465km/h and an 11deg. left bank, 12deg. nose-down. The cause of the accident was the destruction of engine no.2 resulting in disconnection of the longitudinal control system from the control column, cabin depressurisation, damage to the electric system and fire. At the end stage of flight the fire caused the loss of the aircraft longitudinal control and the impact with the ground after 31 minutes as counted from the beginning of the emergency situation. The destruction of engine no.2 occurred without any signal from the warning/testing system. Under the circumstances the crew members were not able to stop the engine in good time, consequently an emergency situation was created on board the aircraft. Some info about the orginal movie: Dragonball Evolution, tentatively titled Dragonball, is an upcoming 2009 American live-action film adaptation of the Dragon Ball media franchise being produced by 20th Century Fox. The story centers around the adventures of the lead character, Goku, from his childhood into adulthood. The film began development in 2002, and is directed by James Wong and produced by Stephen Chow. It is scheduled for release on April 8, 2009. Actor Justin Chatwin was cast as Goku, and James Marsters will be portraying Lord Piccolo, the antagonist of the film. Chatwin will not wear a wig as the director felt Chatwin's hair resembled Goku's.[22] A large amount of Dragonball: Evolution was shot in an abandoned jeans factory, also located in Durango, Mexico.[24] Dragonball Evolution special effects are being done by Amalgamated Dynamics, while the visual effects are being done by Ollin Studios, Zoic Studios, and Imagine Engine. The film will also have the anime style of fighting in Dragon Ball Z, such as chi energy blasts and auras. On December 9, 2008 it was confirmed that the theme song will be "Rule" by Japanese pop icon Ayumi Hamasaki. The choice was because director James Wong wanted the movie adaptation of a manga/anime born in Japan to be sung by a Japanese person and was particularly impressed with Hamasaki. "Rule" will be used as the theme song for every country's release. The film was originally slated to be named Dragonball, however on December 10, 2008 a trailer was released using the name Dragonball Evolution and Fox licensed the domain name "DragonballEvolutionMovie.com" indicating the film had been renamed. Strategic Bomber TU-160 with IL-78 and TY-95MC, that imitated the top-up in air. Then came bombers TU-22M3 and assault aviation (low-flying attack aircraft) SU-25. The air parade was closed by flight groups of fighter squadron "Russian Knights" and "Strizhi". This is what I saw out of my window (13th floor). All the aircraft passed at 300 meters height. [View \| Download]	THE CONCORDE STORY The Aérospatiale-BAC Concorde is a turbojet-powered supersonic passenger airliner, a supersonic transport (SST). It was a product of an Anglo-French government treaty, combining the manufacturing efforts of Aérospatiale and the British Aircraft Corporation. First flown in 1969, Concorde entered service in 1976 and continued commercial flights for 27 years. Among other destinations, Concorde flew regular transatlantic flights from London Heathrow (British Airways) and Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport (Air France) to New York JFK, profitably flying these routes at record speeds, in less than half the time of other airliners. With only 20 aircraft built, their development represented a substantial economic loss, in addition to which Air France and British Airways were subsidised by their governments to buy them. As a result of the type's only crash on 25 July 2000 and other factors, its retirement flight was on 26 November 2003. Concorde's name reflects the development agreement between the United Kingdom and France. In the UK, any or all of the type—unusual for an aircraft—are known simply as "Concorde". The aircraft is regarded by many as an aviation icon.
