In this hack, i will show you basically 2 things: First, how you can hack and mod the simple classic keylock mechanism to make it servo-actuated for less than $5, and second how you can make a very cool capacitance touch-pad to enter the security code, with extremely low power quiescence consumption to be long-term battery operated. The requirements were very strict: - No modification on the door or frame is allowed - The door had no pre-installed opening automation - The system must run on batteries as long as possible - The width is limited to some 18-20mm - It must be cheap and simple to make, kids should be able to make it The last requirements is the most important, because as a kid, i always wanted to make such an automation, but it was only possible for the main door of my house, as it had a pre-installed opening system. It was not possible for my room though.
