Cat feeds baby wolf into life in Siberia An abandoned wolf-cub has turned to an unconventional mother figure in a Siberian Zoo .... a caring cat. The actual mother had refused to feed the Wolf, leaving him close to death, forcing the keepers to think outside the box. As imagens foram captadas por câmeras de vigilância da estrada. A televisão do Chile exibiu as cenas. Em meio a caminhões e outros veículos de grande porte, o cachorro se aproximou do animal atropelado e, com dificuldade, o arrastou para a margem da rodovia Vespucio Norte. Rapidamente, funcionários chegaram e retiraram os dois animais. O cão vítima do atropelamento não resistiu aos ferimentos e morreu ainda no local. A domesticação acompanha a História da civilização, sendo benéfica para o desenvolvimento da mesma, porém é extremamente prejudicial à natureza e à ecologia, já que, em contraste com a seleção natural, a domesticação provoca uma seleção artificial de alguns seres vivos em detrimento de outros que o ser humano procura eliminar por considerar hostis à sua sobrevivência. A domesticação, desse modo é um fator de redução da biodiversidade. Um exemplo no Brasil é o abate de onças que se alimentam de gado. A agricultura acarreta a devastação de florestas naturais e em seu lugar são instaladas monoculturas. O habitat e os alimentos de animais selvagens são dessa forma destruídos.
