[View \| Download]	Voyager In 1977, NASA launched two small spacecraft called Voyager 1 and Voyager 2. Weighing only 800 kgs each, they collected a wealth of scientific data and thousands of photographs of the four giant planets in our Solar System. After visiting Jupiter and Saturn, Voyager 1's trajectory left the ecliptic plane in order to photograph Saturn's moon Titan. This meant that Voyager 1 would not visit any other planets. However, Voyager 2 continued on to visit Uranus and Neptune. Still today, Voyager 2 is the only spacecraft to have visited these two "ice giants" and their moons. This music is dedicated to the two Voyager spacecraft and to the people who made them possible. For this special Halloween project, we built a spooky candy bowl that lights up when an unsuspecting trick-or-treater reaches in. Using a microcontroller and some aluminum foil, we can build a capacitive proximity sensor that detects when a person's hand is nearby. Take #31 was selected by RCA for release. "Hound Dog" had a 28-week stay on Billboard's Top 100 chart, peaking at #2 for three weeks. The Platters' "My Prayer" and then Elvis' "Don't Be Cruel" kept "Hound Dog" from the top spot. The song was number one for three weeks on the Country Juke Box chart and number one for one week on the rhythm & blues chart. Sales in 1956 alone exceeded six million copies. This is the picture disc issue of "A Legendary Performer Vol. 3" from the 1970's, featuring the original mono release of "Hound Dog."
