This font design has these principles as its parameters: The letters generally follow what would be natural stroke directions; no sharp corners, all gentle turns; no lines back up over each other, cross each other, or run into each other. All of this civility between the lines produces an unintentional but welcome neon quality about it. This font can have a variety of vibes depending on its context--it has a certain nostalgia to it, yet it also has a slick, clean, futuristic look. It can even be used in a semi-grunge setting. Scrat Shatters Guinness World Record for Tallest Ice Sculpture Things got a little chilly in Southern California on 10/27 as Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment broke the Guinness World Record for Tallest Ice Sculpture timed with the Blu-ray and DVD release of Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs. Sculpted by innovative ice company Ice Bulb, the 48-foot-8-inch creation, reaching over four stories high, broke the previous record by nearly 8 feet. Officially unveiled at ICE at Santa Monica, Downtown Santa Monica's outdoor ice skating rink, the project took months of collaboration to create, with artists from Blue Sky Studios developing the overall look of the ice sculpture depicting lovable squirrel Scrat and his giant acorn. Over 133,000 pounds of ice, gathered across four states, was used as a team of 14 skilled sculptors from Ice Bulb worked four straight days to finish the job. Vangelis and Jean Michel Jarre Alpha Alpha tema instrumentado Albedo 0.39 Albedo 0.39 es un Álbum conceptual de música electrónica compuesto por Vangelis. [editar] Características Fue grabado en 1976 en los estudios Nemo de Londres, y fue el segundo álbum producido por el mismo Vangelis. El nombre hace referencia al albedo promedio de la Tierra vista desde el espacio. Dentro del disco se encuentra la leyenda: "ALBEDO: El poder reflectante de un planeta u otro cuerpo no luminoso. Un reflector perfecto tendría una Albedo de 100%. El Albedo de la Tierra es 39% ó 0.39." Su portada muestra un vaso transparente con un poco de agua y una esfera en su parte superior, todo a media luz. Igual que en sus otras composiciones, utiliza sintetizadores, además de instrumentos acústicos como xilófonos y tambores, entre otros. El tema "Freefall" es una contemplativa expresión rústica protagonizada por una simplísima melodía con sonidos similares a golpes en latas, recordando a la música oriental. A continuación, "Mare tranquillitatis" es un misterioso e impactante paso por sonoridades distorsionadas no convencionales sumadas a la que probablemente es la voz de un astronauta llegando a la luna. "Main sequence" representa una arriesgadísima combinación de ritmos e improvisaciones electrónicas muy enérgicas y espontáneas, aproximándose al jazz-rock, fluyendo constantemente en muy variadas atmósferas de sonido, una verdadera obra maestra de la música; complementada por "Sword of Orion", un corto tema solemne y emotivo en la vanguardia de la música new age. "Alpha" es un tema minimalista y progresivo quizá superado por el posterior "To the unknown man" del disco "Spiral". Interesante es prestar atención al comienzo de la canción donde se escucha el sonido de discado de un teléfono a disco. "Nucleogenesis" (dividido en dos partes) es una genialidad individual de Vangelis quizá no tan representativa como "Pulstar" ni tan espontánea como "Main Sequence", pero la segunda parte es, junto con "Dervish D" de "Spiral", el tema más "divertido" (por así decirlo) de Vangelis.
