Trailer | PBS The Academy Award nominated documentary, "My Country, My Country," by Laura Poitras, is an unforgettable journey into the heart of war-ravaged Iraq in the months leading up to the January 2005 elections. Symbolized by fingers marked with purple ink, the 2005 elections posed challenges to all sides of the debate about the war. "My Country, My Country" premiered on the P.O.V. series on October 25, 2006. The film was recently nominated for a 2007 News & Documentary Emmy Award for Outstanding Continuing Coverage of a News Story — Long Form. Winners will be announced on September 24 in New York City.
