Are There Rare Cases When an Abortion Is Justified? / Pro-Life Anti-Abortion Video Are There Rare Cases When an Abortion Is Justified? What if someone brought up these arguments to justify the killing of an infant: "The baby was conceived through rape" - "The infant is deformed and mentally handicapped" - "The mother's health is suffering as a result of her baby." Would anyone who endorses abortion in the womb openly justify the killing of an infant using these excuses? No, they would not. This proves that these objections are insincere and that the heart of the matter is whether the fetus is a living human. If it could be proven that the human fetus is just as alive and just as human as the infant, then these objections would not justify aborting a fetus any more than an infant. We must respond to all tragic circumstances of pregnancy from the unshakeable foundation of two indisputable premises: human life begins at conception, and it is always wrong to intentionally kill an innocent human being. The unborn child's right to life and liberty is given by his or her Creator, not by his or her parents or by the state. The right to life is inalienable: that is, not to be trespassed upon by another. In tragic circumstances such as rape or incest, we want to care for both the mother and her unborn baby. We want to relieve the suffering of the mother and her unborn baby. It is never right to intentionally kill an innocent person, even if it does relieve another's emotional or physical suffering. It's not up to a vote, and our obligation to submit unto divine judgments does not sway with our circumstances. We should not kill an unborn baby to alleviate the suffering of the mother any more than we should kill her infant to alleviate her suffering. Neither should we commit an abortion of a malformed fetus in order to prevent his or her suffering later in life. Being handicapped is not a capital crime. The intentional destruction of health is not compassionate and it is not healthcare, it is assault. We must not be swayed from our pro-life ethic by emotional appeals that admittedly swell our eyes with tears. Truth and compassion prevent us from this fatal compromise. We find it extremely unfortunate that many pro-lifers have regarded the health of the mother to be a consideration in whether or not she should have the right to terminate the life of her pre-born baby. Politicians who herald the title "pro-life" on the campaign trail frequently tout this health exception, as well as exceptions for rape and incest, as pragmatic compromises that will not offend political moderates and not alienate the pro-life community. We do not consider this compromise consistent with pro-life Hippocratic principles at all. To intentionally kill or condone the intentional killing of one innocent human being precludes one from being considered "pro-life" at all. A murderer of one person is not any less a murderer if he allows thousands to live, nor if he saves thousands from dying! When the life of the mother is truly threatened by her pregnancy, if both lives cannot simultaneously be saved, then saving the mother's life must be the primary aim. If through our careful treatment of the mother's illness the pre-born patient inadvertently dies or is injured, this is tragic and, if unintentional, is not unethical and is consistent with the pro-life ethic. But the intentional killing of an unborn baby by abortion is never necessary. It is only ethical to remove the tubal pregnancy if spontaneous resolution does not occur after watchful waiting and if the physician is 100% certain that there are no twins. At this point, the embryo in the fallopian tube is likely to be dead and, even if not, the death is unavoidable and unintentional, and the procedure is necessary to save the life of the mother. In conclusion, there are no occasions in which the intentional killing of the pre-born child is justified. Scientific fact and divine law are clear: life begins at conception, and there are no exceptions to the prohibition of intentionally killing an innocent human being. We must stand true to these foundational principles through every emotional appeal and in every tragic scenario if we are to have any principles at all for which to stand. Public domain text. They also provide women who have had abortions with counciling as many of them suffer post-abortion syndrome, a very real physcial and psychological condition as a result of abortion. Speaker Pelosi justifies JAIL for not buying health insurance 11-0-09 - During a press conference at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle, Nancy Pelosi skirted a surprise question, twice. The questions pertained to 5-year jail terms and $250,000 fines for those refusing to buy health insurance under her plan. However, she did say her plan was "fair". House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-CA, was in Seattle on Monday, November 9, 2009 where she joined Democratic Reps. Jay Inslee, Jim McDermott and Norman Dicks in a tour of Swedish Medical Center. Pelosi's visit came less than 48 hours after the U.S. House of Representatives passed the massive and short-sighted "Affordable Health Care for America Act" bill by a very narrow margin, 220-215. Pelosi needed at least 218 votes for passage. The closed door meetings and their partisan Democrat scheme worked despite the obvious will of the People as a Rasmussen poll found that 57% Americans opposed while only 41% approved government run health care. By all accounts, this bill should have died. However, the Stupak amendment revived it at the promise of removing funding for abortions, which we all know can be reversed later on. The Stupak amendment to HR 3962 was proposed and approved in the House of Representatives on November 7, 2009. UPDATE: As of Dec 22nd 2009, public funding of abortion was added by language c0-sponsored by Sen. Murray (D-WA) & Sen. Boxer (D-WA. They lied...surprise, surprise, surprise. Even Obama later admitted, "there were some stray cat and dogs that got snuck in...that we were in the process of eliminating". This "stray dog" was "snuck in" several weeks AFTER they railroaded this unconstitutional law through. Pelosi was recently asked another question that she could not answer. She was asked where in the Constitution does it give government the right to run health care. Her snarky answer was simply; are you serious, are you serious? Yes, we patriots are serious; just ask us what we think of more government intrusion in our lives, this being an egregious one that will snatch 1/6th of the US economy from the private sector and in total making government in charge of about half of the entire economy. The more this reckless government strays away from the guidelines set by our Founding Fathers, the less freedom we are left with. Liberty will die and so will patients under this sort of health care reform. Like in Canada and much of socialist Europe, patients needlessly die waiting weeks or months for life saving surgeries. And in our case, Washington bureaucrats will make decisions for you and your doctor based on cost effective procedures. That is where rationing and cost savings will offset the massive fraud, waste and abuse that government is infamous for. It is a good thing that Congress, with their 240 millionaires, will be spared the rationed care they impose of the American public. This legislation must be stopped at all expense, as the Senate will soon vote on it. Our Liberty and quality of health care depends on our success in stopping this reckless government and their radical and destructive agenda. Their narrow-minded approach to destroying the best health care on Earth only to reform it is based on deceptive tactics and exploitation of the American people. It must be done NOW, however not implemented until 2013. Therefore, the negative fallout will not play a role in possibly reelecting our leftist president. *The same day that Pelosi ducked the jail question, President Obama also danced around a similar question posed by White House press staff Jake Tapper. Mr. Tapper also had to ask the question twice and met with a condescending, "I'm not sure that's the biggest question they're asking right now". The audio portion of the Obama interview follows the Pelosi press conference. Please call, email, or visit your Senator and urge them to vote NO, before its too late! Once implemented this government plan, like all other entitlement programs, is permanent and will cost at least 3x the projections, totaling over $3 Trillion...of deficit spending! Furthermore, they talk about "subsidies" and they really mean redistribution of wealth. Karl Marx said, "To each according to his need, from each according to his ability". The have some "moral" obligation to steal from those who are productive and distribute to those who don't produce much if any to society. This is not government's role, they think it's charity, but last time I checked charity was to be given, not taken by a rule by fear government with a "mandate". This health care "debate" is not about health or care, it's about CONTROL. Presumably if one eats pepperoni pizza before going to bed, the other may share the same nightmare. Here's something to think about. If all of Yahowah God's creation were conjoined, and only one in a million births were of a single human being not connected to another, the world might pity that poor lonely soul who would be alone most of his or her life. So regardless if a human being is alone or conjoined, a human life is marvelously and wondrously knitted together by our loving Creator. The pictures in the video are not fiction. The partial birth abortion is not a rare procedure. It is, essentially, a variant of the even more common and equally gruesome Dilation and Evacuation (D&E) procedure. There are in fact absolutely no obstetrical situations encountered in this country which require a partially delivered human fetus to be destroyed to preserve the life or health of the mother (Dr. Pamela Smith, Senate Hearing Record, p.82: Partial Birth Abortion Ban Medical Testimony). People like Jill Stanek have exposed a practice, in which children marked for abortion are born alive and then killed. This is exactly where the logic of partial-birth abortion leads. On November 5, 2003, President George W. Bush signed into law the Partial-birth Abortion Ban Act of 2003. On April 18, 2007 the Supreme Court announced its decision to uphold the ban on partial-birth abortion. The procedure in question is properly called "partial-birth abortion" because, as even secular sources acknowledge, it requires the doctor to deliver the unborn child partially from the uterus, feet first, leaving the baby's head inside the womb. The doctor then uses scissors and a hollow needle to empty the skull of its contents. The unborn baby's head then collapses and the doctor removes the dead baby entirely from the mother's body. Given the nature of the procedure, the congressmen who drafted legislation to prohibit it, the "Partial-Birth Abortion Act of 1995", defined the procedure as follows: "an abortion in which the person performing the abortion partially vaginally delivers a living fetus before killing the fetus and completing the delivery". The doctors who perform this barbaric act and those who seek to justify it attempt to hide its nature by describing it euphemistically as "intact dilation and evacuation/extraction" or as "intrauterine cranial decompression. "Physicians Ad Hoc Coalition for Truth" (PHACT), a group of more than 300 medical specialists organized to counter the misinformation provided by the abortion industry of the United States, pointed out: "Partial-birth abortion is never medically necessary to protect the health of a woman or to protect her future fertility; in fact, the procedure can pose grave dangers to the woman". Many people argue that the anesthetics used in the process kill the baby, so death to the child is painless. However the American Society of Anesthesiologists testified to Congress that this is simply not true. On July 11, 1995, American Medical News (AMA's official journal) submitted the transcript of a tape-recorded interview with abortionist Dr. Martin Haskell to the House Judiciary Committee in which he admitted: "...the majority of fetuses aborted this way (partial birth abortion) are alive until the end of the procedure." As disturbing as this sounds, these are the facts. In this country medical doctors are partially delivering babies and then killing them. These babies are inches from being born. Many could be born and placed directly in the loving arms of childless couples for adoption. Instead, they are cruelly killed. He explains the procedure of a suction abortion, followed by an actual first trimester abortion as seen through ultrasound. The viewer can see the child's pathetic attempts to escape the suction curette as her heart rate doubles, and a "silent scream" as her body is torn apart. Introduction by Dr. Bernard Nathanson, host. Describes the technology of ultrasound and how, for the first time ever, we can actually see inside the womb. Dr. Nathanson further describes the ultrasound technique and shows examples of babies in the womb. Three-dimensional depiction of the developing fetus, from 4 weeks through 28 weeks. The clip begins with an ultrasound of the fetus (girl) who is about to be aborted. The girl is moving in the womb; displays a heartbeat of 140 per minute; and is at times sucking her thumb. As the abortionist's suction tip begins to invade the womb, the child rears and moves violently in an attempt to avoid the instrument. Her mouth is visibly open in a "silent scream." The child's heart rate speeds up dramatically (to 200 beats per minute) as she senses aggression. She moves violently away in a pathetic attempt to escape the instrument. The abortionist's suction tip begins to rip the baby's limbs from its body, ultimately leaving only her head in the uterus (too large to be pulled from the uterus in one piece). The abortionist attempts to crush her head with his forceps, allowing it to be removed. In an effort to "dehumanize" the procedure, the abortionist and anesthesiologist refer to the baby's head as "number 1." The abortionist crushes "number 1" with the forceps and removes it from the uterus. Abortion statistics are revealed, as well as who benefits from the enormously lucrative industry that has developed. Clinics are now franchised, and there is ample evidence that many are controlled by organized crime. Women are victims, too. They haven't been told about the true nature of the unborn child or the facts about abortion procedures. Their wombs have been perforated, infected, destroyed, and sterilized. All as a result of an operation about which they they have had no true knowledge. Films like this must be made part of "informed consent." NARAL (National Abortion Rights Action League) and Planned Parenthood are accused of a conspiracy of silence, of keeping women in the dark about the reality of abortion. Finally, Dr. Nathanson discusses his credentials. He is a former abortionist, having been the director of the largest clinic in the Western world.
