Magnetic North Pole Moving Toward Siberia 2010 Atrium in Germany - Imagine our compasses starting pointing south someday. This is not science fiction. A total reversal of Earth's Magnetic Fields actually happened over 740 thousand years ago. The Earth's Magnetic Field is weakening. Magnetic field strength is decreasing rapidly in certain areas of South America and South Atlantic; up to 12% in 30 years. The decay of Earth Magnetic Field will have serous effect on satellites in space and trains and electrical grids on the ground. HINDUISM -- SCIENTIFICALLY proven RELIGION (part 1 of 3) I CHALLENGE ALL THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE PREJUDICES TOWARDS HINDUISM TO WATCH THIS FULL VIDEO (ALL 3 PARTS). ------------------------------------ A vast number of statements and materials presented in the ancient Vedic literatures can be shown to agree with modern scientific findings and they also reveal a highly developed scientific content in these literatures. The great cultural wealth of this knowledge is highly relevant in the modern world. Techniques used to show this agreement include: Marine Archaeology of underwater sites (such as Dvaraka) Satellite imagery of the Indus-Sarasvata River system Carbon and Thermoluminiscence Dating of archaeological artifacts Scientific Verification of Scriptural statements Linguistic analysis of scripts found on archaeological artifacts A Study of cultural continuity in all these categories. http://devavision.org/videos.html ----------------- HINDUS, SIKHS, JAINS AND BUDDHISTS BELIEVE THAT ALL RELIGIONS ARE DIFFERENT PATHS TO REACH THE SAME GOD, JUST LIKE ALL DIFFERENT RIVERS MEET THE SAME SEA. The Milky Way is a barred spiral galaxy that is part of the Local Group of galaxies. It is one of billions of galaxies in the observable universe. Its name is a translation of the Latin Via Lactea, in turn translated from the Greek Γαλαξίας (Galaxias), referring to the pale band of light formed by stars in the galactic plane as seen from Earth (see etymology of galaxy). Some sources hold that, strictly speaking, the term Milky Way should refer exclusively to the band of light that the galaxy forms in the night sky, while the galaxy should receive the full name Milky Way Galaxy, or alternatively the Galaxy. However, it is unclear how widespread this convention is, and the term Milky Way is routinely used in either context. • http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milky_Way --- Carl Edward Sagan, Ph.D. (1934-1996) was an American astronomer, astrochemist, author, and highly successful popularizer of astronomy, astrophysics and other natural sciences. He pioneered exobiology and promoted the Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence (SETI). He is world-famous for writing popular science books and for co-writing and presenting the award-winning 1980 television series "Cosmos: A Personal Voyage", which has been seen by more than 600 million people in over 60 countries, making it the most widely watched PBS program in history. A book to accompany the program was also published. He also wrote the novel "Contact", the basis for the 1997 Robert Zemecki's film of the same name starring Jodie Foster. During his lifetime, Sagan published more than 600 scientific papers and popular articles and was author, co-author, or editor of more than 20 books. In his works, he frequently advocated skeptical inquiry, secular humanism, and the scientific method. • http://www.carlsagan.com . TEDxCambridge - Jeff Lieberman on science and spirituality Jeff Lieberman, an MIT-trained artist, scientist and engineer, makes a scientific argument for mystical experience. He asks us to challenge our perception of what we are, our relationship to the universe, and our relationship to one another. Our minds are "thought-generating machines." What we would happen if we could turn off the machine? If we could transcend our individual experience of the world? This talk was transcribed by Brad Miele. ENIAC - Electronic Numerical Integrator And Computer http://www.youtube.com/BizzyMicBizness02 ENIAC (pronounced [ɛniæk]), short for Electronic Numerical Integrator And Computer, was the first general-purpose electronic computer. It was a Turing-complete, digital computer capable of being reprogrammed to solve a full range of computing problems. ENIAC was designed to calculate artillery firing tables for the U.S. Army's Ballistic Research Laboratory, but its first use was in calculations for the hydrogen bomb. When ENIAC was announced in 1946 it was heralded in the press as a "Giant Brain". It boasted speeds one thousand times faster than electro-mechanical machines, a leap in computing power that no single machine has since matched. This mathematical power, coupled with general-purpose programmability, excited scientists and industrialists. The inventors promoted the spread of these new ideas by teaching a series of lectures on computer architecture. The ENIAC's design and construction were financed by the United States Army during World War II. The construction contract was signed on June 5, 1943, and work on the computer was begun in secret by the University of Pennsylvania's Moore School of Electrical Engineering starting the following month under the code name "Project PX". The completed machine was unveiled on February 14, 1946 at the University of Pennsylvania, having cost almost $500,000. It was formally accepted by the U.S. Army Ordnance Corps in July 1946. ENIAC was shut down on November 9, 1946 for a refurbishment and a memory upgrade, and was transferred to Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland in 1947. There, on July 29, 1947, it was turned on and would be in continuous operation until 11:45 p.m. on October 2, 1955. ENIAC was conceived and designed by John Mauchly and J. Presper Eckert of the University of Pennsylvania. The team of design engineers assisting the development included Robert F. Shaw (function tables), Chuan Chu (divider/square-rooter), Kite Sharpless (master programmer), Arthur Burks (multiplier), Harry Huskey (reader/printer), Jack Davis (accumulators) and Iredell Eachus Jr. Info by BizzyMicBizness Tags: 405, ASCC, Alamos, Computer, EDVAC, ENIAC, Electrical, Engineering, Harry, Harvard, Huskey, IBM, IVY, J.
