This video features a song composed by the Partisans, guerrilla fighters against the Soviet Occupation from 1944-until the last one fell in 1969. The grandparents of Ieva Strundzyte, the singer of the song on this video, were political prisoners, who were exiled to Siberia, and her parents were born in Siberia. Her maternal grandmother is still lives and is a repository of many songs of the freedom fighters, which she sings often.
