[View \| Download]	Dance rock com Celly Campello (Estúpido Cupido) Primeiro grande sucesso de Celly Campello em 1959, "Estúpido Cupido" é uma versão de Fred Jorge para "Stupid Cupid", de Neil Sedaka e Howard Greenfield. A música é um dos clássicos dos primórdios do rock nacional e internacional. O próprio autor, Neil Sedaka, fez sucesso com a canção, também gravada por artistas como Patsy Cline, Connie Francis, Wanda Jackson, Teresa Brewer, The Dicers, Mandy Moore e outros, sendo que no Brasil há regravações de Wanessa Camargo, Lílian (da dupla Leno & Lílian), Cleide Alves, Títulares do Ritmo, Valter Wanderley, Golden Boys, e outros. Celly Campello iniciou a carreira em 1958. Ao lado do irmão Tony Campello, outro ídolo dos primórdios do rock, Celly apresentou o programa Crush em Hi-fi, primeira atração televisiva dedicada exclusivamente ao rock no Brasil, exibida pela TV Record, a mesma que lançaria em 1965 o programa Jovem Guarda, comandado por Roberto Carlos, Erasmo Carlos e Wanderléa. A cantora tem em seu currículo um rosário de hits, como "Banho de Lua", "Túnel do Amor", "Lacinhos Cor-de-Rosa", "Broto Legal" e "Hei Mama", entre outros. Foi eleita a Rainha do Rock (o rei era Sergio Murillo) em 1960 pela Revista do Rock. Dois anos depois, no auge do sucesso, decidiu encerrar a carreira para contrair matrimônio, e se despediu dos discos com outro sucesso, a música "Canário", em dueto com o irmão Tony. Chegou a ser convidada para apresentar o Jovem Guarda com Roberto Carlos, mas manteve-se firme com a idéia de se dedicar ao lar. Em 1968, porém, aceitou convite da Odeon, sua antiga gravadora, apenas para gravar um LP em comemoração aos 10 anos do seu ingresso no disco. Voltou a gravar três compactos em 1971 para a Continental, mas em 1976 voltou às paradas de sucesso com o lançamento da novela e da trilha sonora de Estúpido Cupido, pela Rede Globo. Regravou a canção para um LP pela RCA e lançou alguns compactos, encerrando definitivamente a carreira em 1979. Morreu aos 60 anos, em 4 de março de 2003, vítima de câncer de mama.
