NewsY - Fatwa on Terrorism by Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri Historical Launching of Fatwa Against Terrorism http://www.minhaj.org/english/tid/9959 Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, the founding leader and patron-in-chief of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, has issued his detailed edict (Fatwa) against terrorism which consists of more than 600 pages. The launching ceremony of the Fatwa was held on March 2, 2010 in London (UK). Minhaj-ul-Quran International UK arranged a press conference which was heavily attended by representatives of the international media besides Labour party minister Shahid Malik, members of EU and UK parliaments Sajjad Karim, Muhammad Sarwar, James Finter, ambassadors of Iraq, Germany and other countries, officials of the Home Office, Commonwealth Office and Metropolitan Police, Professors and Muslim and Christian community leaders. Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri presented the anti-terror Fatwa in Urdu and English languages before the international media. It should be kept in mind that Shaykh-ul-Islam had declared to issue a detailed Fatwa against terrorism and suicide bombings in December 2009, which was originally thought to consist of 300 pages, whose volume later on increased to 600 pages due to scholarly dealing of the subject. This Fatwa is the only one of its kind in terms of its intellectual value, penetrating research and authentic allusions. Hence, it is a scholarly and historic document. Talking to the international media on the occasion, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri said that ever increasing wave of extremism and terrorism has destroyed the world peace. It is a matter of great misfortune that these terrorist activities of the misguided elements have been bracketed with Islam though the reality is otherwise. He said that majority of the religious scholars condemn terrorism but the condemnation is merely rhetorical. No one has come forward with an authentic and intellectual response to terrorism in the form of a patent decree. Minhaj-ul-Quran International has told the world in no uncertain terms through issuance of this Fatwa that terrorists have nothing to do with Islam. It is a peaceful religion, which not only condemns but also prohibits every kind of terrorism at every level under any pretext. He said that the suicide bombers are out of the pale of Islam. He hoped that the youth would not become the fodder for the cannons of terrorist elements or extremist organizations after studying the Fatwa. The terrorist elements brainwash the youth by invoking wrong interpretations of the faith. The youth who advance the objectives of the terrorists should regard themselves out of the fold of Islam in accordance with the teachings of the Holy Prophet (saw). He said that terrorism is terrorism and it cannot be justified under any pretext through allusion to any real or alleged instances of injustice and there is no space for terrorism in Islam. He regretted the fact that the Islamic teachings, which are based on love, peace and welfare, are being manipulated and quoted out of contexts to serve the designs of the vested interests. He said that Islam spelled out a clear code of conduct during the course of war and gave complete protection to the non-combatants including women, the old, and children etc., so much so that trading centres, schools, hospitals and worship places were also declared as safe. Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri said that those who want to impose the Islamic order on others by means of force and naked power belong to the group of Khawarij who, during the Caliphate of Hazrat Ali (ra), took up arms and initiated rebellion against the Islamic state in the name of enforcing the Divine Order. The terrorists of today also belong to the same breed of Khawarij. They resemble one another in their appearances, body demeanors and even working. He said that Islam does not approve of the killing of innocent people under any excuse. There is a judicial system to indict the wrong-doers and bring them to book. It is the responsibility of the Islamic state to implement the system of justice and punishment through state-run mechanism and none can be allowed to take law in his hands. "La Candelosa": Una de las mejores líneas de bajo latino (tropical) en existencia. Hola. Este es mi primer video con anotaciones en español. No había hecho esto antes pues como se darán cuenta por mis videos anteriores, soy rockero de corazón y es a esa música a la que he dedicado la mayor parte de mis esfuerzos. Pero en esta ocasión he querido hacer algo que tenía guardado prácticamente desde que empecé en la música (1986) y no había madurado. Ante todo deseo aclarar que no soy seguidor ni mucho menos amante del Vallenato (con todo respeto) y que no es mi intención incursionar en el género. Los bajistas de Vallenato dedicados se darán perfecta cuenta de que mi técnica de pulsación no es la de un "Vallenatólogo" convencido. Pero en todo caso, siempre he sostenido que El Binomio De Oro con Rafael Orozco como cantante ha sido la mejor agrupación vallenata de la historia ( quienes no conocen sobre Vallenato pueden documentarse en http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vallenato ). Sin ser furibundo seguidor debo decir que me gusta mucho la casi totalidad de su producción, y el grupo en vivo era una bomba. "La Candelosa" representa para mí uno de los puntos más altos en su carrera y era este su último éxito cuando empecé a rascar las cuerdas del bajo. Logré una versión bastante atropellada de la línea en aquel entonces pero siempre quise estudiarla a fondo, cosa que recientemente he hecho y he querido plasmar el resultado de mi esfuerzo en este video. La estudié tan a fondo que me percaté de la presencia de dos bajos en cortas secciones (por eso las divisiones en dos de la pantalla), cosa en la que antes no había reparado (los señores del Binomio sí que sabian sacarle provecho al estudio de grabación. "El Parrandón" es otro ejemplo del uso de dos bajos en algunas partes). Puedo decir que toqué prácticamente el 100% de las notas que están en la grabación original, independientemente de lo bien o mal que lo haya hecho. La única modificación intencional que hice fue agregar algunas notas muertas a la introducción, pues me parece que suena mucho más "funkera" de esa forma. Tremenda línea de bajo esta. Una escuela para cualquier bajista. Y quiero agregar para los conocedores que, si bien admiro y respeto profundamente al señor José Vásquez (ni más faltaba. Tremendo maestro del bajo), siempre me pareció ligeramente superior el estilo del desaparecido Rangel "El Maño" Torres, quien hizo esta grabación. Espero que mi versión no sea considerada una ofensa a su memoria. :) (English) Hi again. Originated in the Caribbean coast area, it's basically music for party created with the accordion as the most prominent instrument. A percussion instrument called caja vallenata ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caja_vallenata ) is used exclusively in this kind of music. Further reading about Vallenato can be found at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vallenato The basslines are anything but pedestrian. Melodies and chords while supporting the rhythm section at the same time make this style a very challenging one for any bass player. Dedicated Vallenato players use their thumb along with index, middle and sometimes ring finger for plucking the strings (that's why I'm not a dedicated Vallenato player: I use I-M strictly, and only use my thumb for some chords). "La Candelosa" is an example of an uptempo Vallenato tune, but there are slow-paced ones as well. For those ones, an electric guitar is added for accompaniment, duets with accordion and (less common) solo parts. You'll hardly hear an electric guitar on songs like "La Candelosa". Also, there are two basses in some sections of this song (shown on split-screen). In my opinion (as I say in the video title), this is one of the best (if not THE best) Latin (tropical) basslines ever created. The bass part for this song, as lots others from "El Binomio De Oro" during most of its existence with the original singer, Rafael Orozco (who was killed in 1992), was recorded with a Kramer Stagemaster Imperial bass ( http://www.vintagekramer.com/alum.htm ) which featured an aluminum neck. I suggest people copy/download this video and spread it around themselves if my account is also deleted. ~~LET THE TRUTH BE KNOWN, SPREAD THIS VIDEO AROUND~~ Police violently arresting a Jewish teenager in Jerusalem for speaking the truth and charged him for "attacking and biting a police officer" !!! For one American Jewish teenager, this year's Jerusalem Day earlier this month turned out to be an event not to remember, as he was detained for two days on suspicion of attacking and biting a police officer. "Lucas," a 19 year-old from Philadelphia, cut a rather different figure in the Jerusalem Day flag parade in the capital. Like many participants in the event, he wore a skullcap on his head; unlike the others, however, a Palestinian flag and a keffiyeh were also part of his outfit. The youth, who arrived in Israel as part of a trip arranged by a Jewish-Christian group, claims he was attacked by a policeman during the celebrations. The parade turned ugly this year when a small group of participants walked through East Jerusalem, and the Old City's Muslim Quarter, chanting "death to Arabs." Lucas, with a few comrades, stood opposite these demonstrators, and shouted out slogans in support of ending Israel's occupation of the territories. He says that dozens of Palestinians gathered behind him, and formed a spontaneous protest. In a videotape, Lucas can be seen refusing to give policemen his passport, after he was apparently identified as the leader of the protest. After a few minutes, in the clip, a police officer is seen dragging Lucas forcibly into a police car, "Israel is occupying the Palestinian people in my name, in the name of world Jewry," Lucas, clutching his American passport, tells the camera. "And I myself, an American Jew, is here to say that is completely unjustified and ethically reprehensible. "And we, world Jewry and all people of the world, will not stop until this occupation ends and until the Palestinian people have their right - the right of return, the right to live without occupation, and equal rights within Israel. That is why we are here." Israel Police claims the young man attacked and bit an officer - however, the video does not show Lucas provoking any officers. It shows a group of policemen forcing him to the ground and handcuffing him; as a result, he required medical treatment afterward. For his part, Lucas adamantly denies that he attacked a police officer. "I didn't bite anyone," he says. "The police officer showed me his cuts [later], but they were caused by a sharp instrument, and there weren't any bite marks." Lucas was held in detention for two days. The Jerusalem Magistrate's Court denied a police request to extend his remand; at the advice of his lawyer and family, the youth left the country after being released.
