As you can see, the first 2 minutes or so is just me poking at him until he exits area 4 and heads to area 5. Of course be sure to use caution while escaping his tail when trying to back to camp from area 4. Now, if you've not gathered Ballistas, I suggest you do it now. Or, if you'd like to give the Cannon S a try, feel free to gather one from the cannon ball looking pile and stand near the cannon in area 5. While in area 5, you'll notice 3 objects: A Cannon looking barrel gun A bowgun grafted into the floor and in the middle, a giant Wyvern iconed button You'll want to not mess with that button just yet, it's known as the "Dragonator" and launches several spikes forward to penetrate any invading monsters. I won't be using the cannon nor the Dragonator since aiming with the Ballista gun isn't too great on this game and because I don't really care for the Dragonator. To be honest, I'm not even sure I shot Lao, I never am. When you see his head appear through the mist, I suggest you start unloading those 10x Ballista S After doing so, jump your butt down there and get ready for to hopefully down him. Now, he may ram the Fortress wall, if he does so that's 10% - off of the Fortress Intergrity (which starts at 100%) what happens when it depletes to 0? You fail the quest, so I hope you slay him here. Well well, let's see what happens in the next video shall we? Anyway, I think I explained the method in which to easily clear this quest enough, so you know what I'm going to do? I'm going to show you how it's done with SnS, no I will not explain. Also, let's discuss something here: I'd like to remind you all what the purpose of this walkthrough is for, it's to help you clear your quests, I never said you have/had to use the same weapon I'm using. But I think I should remind you to take a look at how I'm using said weapon and ask yourself "Do I want to clear quests as fast as he does?" Maybe it'd be a good weapon to use to farm materials and make even better weapons/armor? I'm just saying, you can handle things anyway you want, but take a look at what I'm using and how I do it, it may really help you. (: Well everybody, we've come quite a long way haven't we? We're not finished yet, so let's keep it up. So our next quest is.. Horn of the Monoblos, great you guys! We're fighting a horn! Oh I wish, to be honest I dread Monoblos. Why? I don't know, anyways I chose a Lance this time, why? Diversity isn't so bad every once and awhile. Weapon: Emerald Spear Attack: 345 Sharpness: Large Green WTAttrib: 250 Armor: Rathian Helm Rathalos Mail Rathian Vambraces Velociprey Tasset Rathalos Greaves Skills: Attack Up (Medium) Health +10 Provocation Items suggested: 5x Flash Bombs and 5x Sonic Bombs. Let's begin shall we? Take anything you like from the box and make your way to area 10, feel free to clear area 4, as you may find yourself fighting Monoblos there later on, upon entering area 10 you're welcomed with a pretty awesome cutscene. As you can see, Monoblos can dig, which means Pitfall Traps are out of the question. While he is underground you can throw Sonic Bombs to cause him to pop up allowing you some free hits or sharpening/healing time. Always remember though, while Monoblos is in Rage Mode, Sonic Bombs will not work on him. So be sure to keep an eye on his forehead patterns, as they will alter when he enters Rage Mode. You can run up onto the ledge and wait there until he charges at you, usually he'll get his horn stuck which will allow you to get some free hits. I'd suggest going for the tail, as that could be rather annoying while fighting our mono horned friend. If you continuously attack at the head, the horn will eventually break. Which means the whole ledge trick won't work, BUT in doing so, you'll get a Crimson Horn in the rewards. Or at least, you should. Unless your luck is just god awful. You'll want to aim for his stomach/legs while attacking, as those are his weak points. I'd suggest using Poison on him, as it's EXTREMELY effective against him, yes guys use Poison Battleaxe again. While Monoblos is flashed, I'd suggest you aim for his left leg, while facing him it's your right, that way to avoid any tail swings. If Monoblos attempts to roar at anytime, be sure to block it! You don't want to leave yourself opened for an attack by him. Also, while he is underground there are certain spots he cannot unearth. Like the odd sand-cement structure at the beginning of the area 10, he cannot unearth himself on that area, just keep that in mind in case you need to sharpen and he's playing whack-a-mole with you. ;] Monoblos can be carved 4 times, and 2 for his tail. Good luck getting that Monoblos Heart! Of course be sure to use caution while escaping his tail when trying to back to camp from area 4. Now, if you've not gathered Ballistas, I suggest you do it now. Or, if you'd like to give the Cannon S a try, feel free to gather one from the cannon ball looking pile and stand near the cannon in area 5. While in area 5, you'll notice 3 objects: A Cannon looking barrel gun A bowgun grafted into the floor and in the middle, a giant Wyvern iconed button You'll want to not mess with that button just yet, it's known as the "Dragonator" and launches several spikes forward to penetrate any invading monsters. I won't be using the cannon nor the Dragonator since aiming with the Ballista gun isn't too great on this game and because I don't really care for the Dragonator. To be honest, I'm not even sure I shot Lao, I never am. When you see his head appear through the mist, I suggest you start unloading those 10x Ballista S After doing so, jump your butt down there and get ready for to hopefully down him. Now, he may ram the Fortress wall, if he does so that's 10% - off of the Fortress Intergrity (which starts at 100%) what happens when it depletes to 0? Anyway, I think I explained the method in which to easily clear this quest enough, so you know what I'm going to do? I'm going to show you how it's done with SnS, no I will not explain. I will just show you! So watch and learn? Did you look at all the uncessary items I bought? With enough practice, you'll be like "lol heals" and begin slaughtering things left and right. Also, let's discuss something here: I'd like to remind you all what the purpose of this walkthrough is for, it's to help you clear your quests, I never said you have/had to use the same weapon I'm using. But I think I should remind you to take a look at how I'm using said weapon and ask yourself "Do I want to clear quests as fast as he does?" Maybe it'd be a good weapon to use to farm materials and make even better weapons/armor? I'm just saying, you can handle things anyway you want, but take a look at what I'm using and how I do it, it may really help you. (: Well everybody, we've come quite a long way haven't we? We're not finished yet, so let's keep it up. So our next quest is.. Horn of the Monoblos, great you guys! We're fighting a horn! Oh I wish, to be honest I dread Monoblos. Why? I don't know, anyways I chose a Lance this time, why? Diversity isn't so bad every once and awhile. Weapon: Emerald Spear Attack: 345 Sharpness: Large Green WTAttrib: 250 Armor: Rathian Helm Rathalos Mail Rathian Vambraces Velociprey Tasset Rathalos Greaves Skills: Attack Up (Medium) Health +10 Provocation Items suggested: 5x Flash Bombs and 5x Sonic Bombs. Let's begin shall we? Take anything you like from the box and make your way to area 10, feel free to clear area 4, as you may find yourself fighting Monoblos there later on, upon entering area 10 you're welcomed with a pretty awesome cutscene. As you can see, Monoblos can dig, which means Pitfall Traps are out of the question. While he is underground you can throw Sonic Bombs to cause him to pop up allowing you some free hits or sharpening/healing time. Always remember though, while Monoblos is in Rage Mode, Sonic Bombs will not work on him. So be sure to keep an eye on his forehead patterns, as they will alter when he enters Rage Mode. You can run up onto the ledge and wait there until he charges at you, usually he'll get his horn stuck which will allow you to get some free hits. I'd suggest going for the tail, as that could be rather annoying while fighting our mono horned friend. If you continuously attack at the head, the horn will eventually break. Which means the whole ledge trick won't work, BUT in doing so, you'll get a Crimson Horn in the rewards. Or at least, you should. Unless your luck is just god awful. You'll want to aim for his stomach/legs while attacking, as those are his weak points. I'd suggest using Poison on him, as it's EXTREMELY effective against him, yes guys use Poison Battleaxe again. While Monoblos is flashed, I'd suggest you aim for his left leg, while facing him it's your right, that way to avoid any tail swings. If Monoblos attempts to roar at anytime, be sure to block it! You don't want to leave yourself opened for an attack by him. Also, while he is underground there are certain spots he cannot unearth. Like the odd sand-cement structure at the beginning of the area 10, he cannot unearth himself on that area, just keep that in mind in case you need to sharpen and he's playing whack-a-mole with you. ;] Monoblos can be carved 4 times, and 2 for his tail. Good luck getting that Monoblos Heart!
