Giant Steps - Latin Style with MIDI keys Visit my web site at http://www.lot2learn.com for midi files, notation files and backing tracks used in the making of my videos. I posted a swing version of Giant Steps a couple of years ago and have had many requests for another version - so here it is. I decided to do this with a "Latin style" rhythm and have added the virtual midi keyboard visualization to help with deciphering my solo. I attempt to construct a solo that is "musical" and not just a series of "licks" and scales. Phrasing becomes important as well as moving in and out of the key changes smoothly. As time permits I will try to add annotations. Sorry for the pixelation and video quality. I am working to resolve those issues. Clair De Lune (Debussy) - Laurindo de Almeida Laurindo de Almeida é um nome brasileiro, só que, muito mais conhecido pelos americanos e não é por menos. Este grande violonista deixou o Brasil há muitos anos e nos Estados Unidos não foi apenas solista da Orquestra de Stan Kenton como também foi autor de inúmeras trilhas para cinema. Laurindo era amigo e trabalhava com Garoto, Pixinguinha, Orlando Silva e Carmen Miranda. Era época do Cassino da Urca e da Rádio Mayrink Veiga. Essa experiência Laurindo carregou para os Estados Unidos e surgiu então a sua marca que acabou conhecida no mundo inteiro, o jeitinho da música popular brasileira combinado aos acordes rítmicos do jazz.
