U2 & Pavarotti - Miss Sarajevo (HQ) American journalist Bill Carter suggested to Bono an idea to film a documentary based on Sarajevo's underground resistance movement. Not only did Bono produce the film, he also provided the funds needed to support the project. Taken from the sleeves notes to Original Soundtracks "The camera follows the organizers through the tunnels and cellars or the city, giving a unique insight into life during a modern :war, where civilians are the targets. The film captures the dark humour of the besieged Sarajevans, their stubborn refusal to be :demoralized and suggests that surrealism and Dadaism are the appropriate responses to fanaticism." -Bono [2] Bono went on to say that he felt that these lyrics reflected what the people of Sarajevo were feeling at the time. Original Soundtracks 1 is an album of songs based mostly on non-existent films; however, "Miss Sarajevo" is one of four tracks from the album that are based on real films. The film Miss Sarajevo is a documentary by Bill Carter about a beauty pageant held in the midst of war-torn Sarajevo, Bosnia. The winner was a 17-year-old blonde named Inela Nogić. Carter traveled to Sarajevo in the winter of 1993 to offer humanitarian aid and quickly found himself in the heart of the conflict. He lived for six months in a burnt-out office building, subsisting on baby food and whatever water he could find in the rivers and sewers and delivering food and medicine to those in need. Thank you I have included some memorable interview clips with Dame Elizabeth Taylor as a guest from the period of circa 1986 through 2006. Please enjoy this series of short interviews as Elizabeth searches her soul and touches upon her personal history, her self image and self esteem, her loved ones and family and always AIDS. She reviews her own personal timeline regarding her battles with AIDS Fundraising and making certain that important people listened. There is a shy quality that we see, far from the zealous characters she has portrayed onscreen. Elizabeth Taylor talks openly and honestly in detailing some of the difficulties that she has survived in life. She is a true survivor in every sense of the word. Upon watching these clips myself, I fell in love with her all over again. She definitely leaves her ego at the front door as she approaches some deep subject matter all in an effort to allow us to know and understand the real Elizabeth Taylor, and not the Elizabeth Taylor we read about in the tabloids. Her honest is refreshing and it suits her so well. Again, enjoy the upcoming, "A Few Words" clips. U2 Alex Descends into Hell for a Bottle of Milk / Korova 1 Hi all I've mixed a video to go with the Bono and Edge collaboration Alex Descends into Hell for a Bottle of Milk / Korova 1 as seen here http://www.u2wanderer.org/disco/sing027.html. I took video from the movie A Clockwork Orange and fitted the imagery to go with the music. The film has gained notoriety for its violent scenes including rape, but I have not included any sexual scenes or any of the over-the-top violence, but I have included scenes of 'mild' violence as the musical score and the basis of the movie dictate this.
