The Beatles Help! (Original 1965 Promotional Video) Join the Official TheQuarrymen58 Facebook page for News, Photos and exclusive videos! http://www.facebook.com/pages/TheQuarrymen58/157704880923753?ref=ts The recording used for the 1965 promotional video was sped up by a few bars, with an altered second verse, most likely a different take of the song with a running time of 2:12, rather than 2:19 from the original. "Help!" is a song by The Beatles that served as the title song for both the 1965 film and its soundtrack album. It was also released as a single, and was number one for three weeks in both the United States and the United Kingdom. "Help!" was written primarily by John Lennon, but credited (as were all Beatles songs written by either person) to Lennon/McCartney. Paul McCartney reports that he had a hand in writing the song as well, being called in "to complete it" in a two-hour joint writing session on 4 April 1965 at Lennon's house in Weybridge. He later said that the title was "out of desperation". In 2004, "Help!" was ranked number 29 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest songs of all time. The Beatles Hey Jude (2009 Stereo Remaster) Join the Official TheQuarrymen58 Facebook page for News, Photos and exclusive videos! http://www.facebook.com/pages/TheQuarrymen58/157704880923753?ref=ts "Hey Jude" is a song by the English rock band The Beatles. Credited to Lennon/McCartney, the ballad evolved from "Hey Jules," a song Paul McCartney wrote to comfort John Lennon's son Julian during his parents' divorce. "Hey Jude" begins with a verse-bridge structure based around McCartney's vocal performance and piano accompaniment; further instrumentation is added as the song progresses to distinguish sections. After the fourth verse, the song shifts to a fade-out coda that lasts for more than four minutes. "Hey Jude" was released in August 1968 as the first single from the Beatles' record label Apple Records. More than seven minutes in length, "Hey Jude" was, at the time, the longest single ever to top the British charts.[2] It also spent nine weeks as number one in the United States—the longest run at the top of the American charts for a Beatles single, and broke the record for longest stay at #1 (until the record was beaten by "You Light Up My Life"). The single has sold approximately eight million copies and is frequently included on professional lists of the all-time best songs. I dubbed in the remastered audio with the David Frost footage from Anthology. The Beatles I Am The Walrus (2009 Stereo Remaster) Join the official TheQuarrymen58 Facebook! http://www.facebook.com/pages/TheQuarrymen58/157704880923753?ref=ts "I Am the Walrus" is a 1967 song by The Beatles, written by John Lennon. Lennon claimed he wrote the first two lines on separate acid trips. The song was in The Beatles' 1967 television film and album Magical Mystery Tour, and was the B-side to the #1 hit "Hello, Goodbye". Lennon composed the avant-garde song by combining three songs he had been working on. When he learned that a teacher at his old primary school was having his students analyse Beatles' lyrics, he added a verse of nonsense words. The walrus is a reference to the walrus in Lewis Carroll's "The Walrus and the Carpenter" (from the book Through the Looking-Glass). Lennon expressed dismay upon belatedly realizing that the walrus was a villain in the poem.
