Saudi Arabian Airlines the Past and Present As Saudi Arabian Airlines AKA Saudia approaches its 65th anniversary, this simple video shows it's humble beginnings as one of the first airlines in the Arabian Gulf and how it grew over the years with service to 25 domestic and many regional and international distention. Sadly, in recent times SV has been declining in service and frequency however I do hope that soon it will regain its old past of excellence as in the 70's and 80'. Enjoy! Please rate and comment! Silver Falcons (The3Ship) This is the counterpart, or sequel, to the "Synchro Pair" movie. Once again, the idea was to show a specific maneuver from as many different perspectives as possible (including the briefing!) But when I started I realised that it was going to be really, really long, so I decided to focus on the 2-ship and 3-ship part of the show. "Synchro Pair" was the first and this one had been in the making since then - about 6 months! As a result this is also still a "Team 71" movie as almost all of the clips used are of that team. As always, I already had the song in mind before adding any of the clips, but luckily "New Divide" by Linkin Park (sort-of) lent itself to the whole "splitting" idea. All the on-board footage is shot on a GoPro HD Hero and there is even some footage shot on a Hero 2 (big thanks to Brian Emmenis and Capital Sounds for that!) External footage courtesy of many people including (in no particular order): My Dad, Hilton Mundy and ShortFinal.TV, Ryno Potgieter, F/Sgt Darius van Niekerk and I'm sure there are many more...sorry if you see your footage and I didn't credit you - Thanks anyway! Also, a big thank you to everyone for watching these videos and supporting the South African Air Force and the Silver Falcons, and for those of you who are watching and dreaming... Go out and make that dream a reality!! PS Check out the (clickable) links to some other videos at the end of this movie. It took me ages to figure out how to do that! Unfortunately the Twitter, Facebook and Website links do not work, as I have to be a partner first :( Here are the links below: FACEBOOK: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Silver-Falcons-Aerobatic-Team/46084028568 TWITTER: https://twitter.com/#!/silverfalcons WEBSITE: http://www.silverfalcons.co.za/ Tags: Aircraft, Airplane, Alpha, Aviation, Aviator, Brian, Buti, Capital, Club, Emmenis, Fixed-wing, Fly, GoPro, HD, Hero, Hero2, Heybrech, Hilton, Industries, Langebaan, Mundy, Mykonos, Niekerk, PhilWebDesign, Pilot, Plane, Planes, Potgieter, Roy, Ryno, SAAF, ShortFinal.TV, Sounds, Sproul, Tsebe, aerobatic, africa, african, air, angels, arrows, astra, awesome, blue, display, falcons, flying, force, formation, military, pc-7, pilatus, red, silver, south, team, thunderbirds, van 1 Downloads - Last from: http://downthisvideo.com/ (Your Blog here!) |

UFO Caught From Airplane - Seoul, South Korea - April 07, 2012 Again..., another UFO that was caught from an Airplane! This UFO was filmed by a passenger over the City of Seoul in South Korea on April 07, 2012. I don't know, but it looks a little bit strange and not really similar to the other videos. If it's really real and not a fake, it looks like a kind of military drone for me. What do you think? If you have filmed similar stuff, please contact us or video response it! Whether old or new video! Thanks! Note: This is a sharpened and enhanced version of the first uploaded video! KLM Boeing B747-400 Landing St. Maarten Cockpit view Landing St.Maarten from cockpit 747. After nosewheel landing camera touched windshield causing crackling noise. For those viewers who made comments (or new viewers who are thinking about making the comment) that this approach is too high and/or too fast or whatever else you might think, here some "free flying lessons" from someone who's flying B747's for 20 years: On an approach on instruments a B747 should cross the runway threshold (= the piano keys) with the main wheels at ± 35 ft above threshold. The 747 is so big that at that point the altitude of the cockpit is 35 ft higher, so the cockpit is at ± 70 ft when main wheels cross the threshold. On a visual approach, as is the case here at St.Maarten, we have to have some more margin. Normally the pilot aims to see the runway threshold disappear under the nose at 80 ft (add 35 ft for cockpit height, so when threshold disappears under the nose, the cockpit is at 115 ft) to have sufficient main wheel clearance. If you look at the video and notice the altitude callouts, you'll see the threshold disappear under the nose at the call 50, so actually I am a bit too low in stead of too high. (In fact I am only too low for a visual approach. If you look at my landing at JFK http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q4YoXyYBbYA&feature=user you will see that I cross the threshold also at 50 ft, which is normal on an instrument approach. Note: the automatic altitude callouts you hear on this video are Radio Altimeter altitudes. The Radio Alt is zero when the main gear is on the ground with struts extended.) Now, there are quite some viewers who think we landed too far on the runway. What follows from earlier explanation is this: We approach a runway at a three degrees approach angle. If main wheels cross the threshold at the correct altitude, the main wheels will hit the runway at approx 900ft (300m) behind the threshold, that is, if you don't flare the airplane. If you look again at the video and wait till you hear 50,40,30,20,10 and see the solid white markers, they are at 900ft behind the threshold and the plane touches down right behind them, because I did flare the airplane. (Passengers seem to hate hard landings!!) THIS IS THE NORMAL TOUCHDOWN POINT FOR A B747. The FCTM(=Flight Crew Training Manual) from Boeing says: flare distance is approx 300 to 600mtr (=900 to 1800ft) beyond the threshold. So, please, stop nagging about this landing being too far on the runway. And then something about too fast: On this approach the 747 weighs about 260.000 kgs. The required approach speed is then 150 kts which is about 175 mph or 280 km/hr. So what about TOO FAST? If we fly slower, we will fall out of the air!!
