The song "Le Clocher de mon coeur" was composed by Johnny Hess and recorded by many artists, however this version by Eva Busch became the most popular. The song in translation means something like "The bell tower of my heart" and she sings about how she is waiting for love to show up and make the bells of her heart go "bim-bam"... It was released as a B-side to both her Franco-German "Bel Ami" recording (see my channel) and "Il ne faut pas briser un réve" (also see my channel). I have tried to create a "dreamy video" to reflect the song and Eva Busch's interpretation. See the video response for a completely different very hot version by Fred Adison and his band. This 78rpm-record is played on my portable "His Master's Voice" gramophone from 1938 (Serie 102c, with green leather case). One of Benny Goodman's greatest combos was the sextet that he led in 1945. With Red Norvo on vibes, either Teddy Wilson or Mel Powell on piano and the humming bass solos of Slam Stewart, this unit had a lot of personality and yet allowed Goodman to operate throughout as the lead voice.
