Mozart, będąc nadwornym kompozytorem w cesarskim Wiedniu, przeważnie pisał utwory na zamówienie lub na własne potrzeby, z myślą o występach. Pisał dużo, szybko, dzieła jego powstawały bez większego związku z tym, co go otaczało. Zatem niewiele jego utworów ma swoją ciekawą historię powstania.
