Turnovers and missed shots, even layups, mired the Turkey players throughout the quarter. Despite yielding a height advantage, Team USA continued to out-rebound their opponents, as lead by Lamar Odom's dirty work under the boards (11 grabs). With a 61-48 cushion entering the final period, Coach Mike Krzyzewski's squad amped its defense even further, and scored several baskets on the run. As the Turkish crowd and team's enthusiasm diminished, the Americans built a commanding 74-52 lead at the half-way mark. Supporting Durant's 28-point outing were Russel Westbrook and Odom who chipped in 13 and 15 points, respectively. Durant set American records for the most overall points (205), and the most single game points (38) in a FIVB World Championship event. Accolto da entusiastici coretti da parte dei conduttori Cruciani e Parenzo, Martone spiega il contesto e le motivazioni della sua frase: "Parlavo dell'importanza dell'apprendistato e del fatto che l'età media dei laureati in Italia è troppo alta. A chi si laurea tardi preferisco un giovane che fa l'apprendistato e inizia a lavorare a 16 anni. Siamo in un momento in cui è meglio che i giovani italiani inizino a lavorare, bisogna brigarsi e dare il massimo." Riguardo alla reazione del ministro Fornero, Martone chiarisce che "non c'è stato alcun cazziatone. Il ministro mi ha sorriso e mi ha detto di essere più sobrio". Le critiche della Lega Nord? "Pensavo che la Lega, almeno per una volta, fosse dalla mia parte visto che ho difeso i giovani apprendisti che vanno a lavorare, e al nord ce ne sono tantissimi. Stimo e apprezzo tutti quelli che studiano lavorando o si sono iscritti all'università tardi li stimo e li apprezzo, ma di loro nessuno parla. Ci sono invece 2 milioni di ragazzi che non studiano, non lavorano e non sfruttano i loro talenti per fare il bene del nostro paese. Se mi attaccano personalmente è perché ho toccato un tasto dolente." Accolto da entusiastici coretti da parte dei conduttori Cruciani e Parenzo, Martone spiega il contesto e le motivazioni della sua frase: "Parlavo dell'importanza dell'apprendistato e del fatto che l'età media dei laureati in Italia è troppo alta. A chi si laurea tardi preferisco un giovane che fa l'apprendistato e inizia a lavorare a 16 anni. Siamo in un momento in cui è meglio che i giovani italiani inizino a lavorare, bisogna brigarsi e dare il massimo." Riguardo alla reazione del ministro Fornero, Martone chiarisce che "non c'è stato alcun cazziatone. Il ministro mi ha sorriso e mi ha detto di essere più sobrio". Le critiche della Lega Nord? "Pensavo che la Lega, almeno per una volta, fosse dalla mia parte visto che ho difeso i giovani apprendisti che vanno a lavorare, e al nord ce ne sono tantissimi. Stimo e apprezzo tutti quelli che studiano lavorando o si sono iscritti all'università tardi li stimo e li apprezzo, ma di loro nessuno parla. Ci sono invece 2 milioni di ragazzi che non studiano, non lavorano e non sfruttano i loro talenti per fare il bene del nostro paese. Se mi attaccano personalmente è perché ho toccato un tasto dolente."
