Tambien fue dirigida y escrita por Charles Chaplin. Un atrevido discurso para la época, en plena guerra fria. El film es un retrato satirico de la sociedad consumista norte americana que se consolida durante esta época (años 50) y critíca tambien el Macarthismo"* por el cual el mismo Chaplin se vio afectado y obligado a recurrir al exilio, razon por la que este film fue rodado en Londres. El Macarthismo fue el acoso y persecución a las personas que pudieran o parecieran estar relacionadas con cualquier forma del socialismo que se estaba dando por aquel entonces en Estados Unidos. Una respuesta a la fobia norte americana por el Comunismo en un momento de gran tension pólitica. 12 Angry Men (1957) 12 Angry Men is a 1957 American drama film adapted from a teleplay of the same name by Reginald Rose. Directed by Sidney Lumet, the film tells the story of a jury made up of 12 men as they deliberate the guilt or acquittal of a defendant on the basis of reasonable doubt. In the United States (both then and now), the verdict in most criminal trials by jury must be unanimous one way or the other. The film is notable for its almost exclusive use of one set: with the exception of the film's opening, which begins outside on the steps of the courthouse and ends with the jury's final instructions before retiring, a brief final scene on the courthouse steps and two short scenes in an adjoining washroom, the entire movie takes place in the jury room. The total time spent outside of the jury room is three minutes out of the full 96 minutes of the movie. 12 Angry Men explores many techniques of consensus-building, and the difficulties encountered in the process, among a group of men whose range of personalities adds intensity and conflict. Apart from two of the jurors swapping names while leaving the courthouse, no names are used in the film: the defendant is referred to as "the boy" and the witnesses as the "old man" and "the lady across the street". In 2007, 12 Angry Men was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant". He was born in Lahore in a Christian family and his first film as playback singer was Qatil in 1955. He got breakthrough from his all time super hit song "Yaaro mujhe muaaf rakho, main nashey mein hoon..." (Saat Laakh - 1957) He sung many other super hit songs in many big films like Aas Paas, Do Rastey, Haboo, Hamsafar, Seema and many more (See the list to the right). His last big film was Pail ki jhankar in 1966. Salim Raza died in 1983 in Canada. The music director was Master Inayat Hussain Master Inayat Hussain was a legendry music director in Pakistani films. He composed many ever green and unforgettable film songs in almost four decades long film career. His first composition was in a Lahore based Punjabi film Kamli before partition in 1946. After independence he was music director in film Hachkolay (1949) but the breakthrough came in the next year with a super hit Punjabi song "suhe choorhe waliye.." sung by Inayat Hussain Bhatti in film Shammi. He became popular in the whole subcontinent after his memorable composition of film Gumnam's song "Payel mein geet hayn chham chham ke...". (singer Iqbal Bano) Master Inayat Hussain was recognised as a legend after his performance in film Qatil. "Ulfat ki nayi manzil ko chala..." sung by Iqbal Bano was all time greatest classic hit. He also composed three songs in film Annar Kalli - the only partnership with Madam Noor Jehan in her acting/singing period. "Kahan tak suno ge, kahan tak sunaun..." was another classic hit. He continued his heigh quality work and created some super hit music with Saleem Raza (who was introduced by Master sahib in film Qatil) in films like Azra, Ik tera sahara, Seema, Do rastey and Dil dian lagian. Mala sang her best collection in film Naela (1965) in the composition of Master sahib as well. Master Inayat Hussain was brother of musician Akhtar Hussain (Patey Khan fame) and Master Abudulla (Malangi and Ziddi fame). He was oncle or Mamu of late musician M. Ashraf. He composed music in 65 films from 1949-85. Master sahib died on March 26, 1993. He moved to Shimla only in search of employment and because his eldest brother Madholal Duggal was already employed there.He was attracted toward poetry during his school days. After completing his education, he worked as a clerk in the municipal office till 1942. He used to participate in the poetry contests organized by newspapers. In the mid-1940s, Krishan shifted to Mumbai to become a screenwriter. His first screenplay was Janta (1947). His first film as a lyricist was Zanjeer (1947). He was first noted for the script and lyrics of the Motilal-Suraiya starrer Aaj Ki Rat (1948).[1] After the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi, Krishan wrote a song Suno Suno Aye Duniyawalon, Bapu Ki Yeh Amar Kahani. The song was sung by Mohammed Rafi and composed by Husnlal Bhagatram, and was a great hit. He also tasted success as a lyricist with the films Badi Bahen (1949) and Lahore (1949). Rajendra Krishan knew Tamil language and wrote 18 scripts for AVM Studios films.[1] Rajendra Krishna is known for his association with the composer C. Ramchandra[2]. He worked with several other music directors including Madan Mohan, Hemant Kumar, Sajjid Hussain, Sachin Dev Burman, S Mohinder, Chitragupt, Salil Chowdhury, and Laxmikant-Pyarelal. After his death, HMV brought out an LP containing 12 of his songs.
