The film was copied in 1957 Pakistani film "Bedari" produced by Rafiq Rizvi. Even the songs were copied by replacing "Hindustan" by "Pakistan". Plot The film is about a spoiled rich kid, Ajay (Rajkumar Gupta),who is a problem child and is sent away to a boarding school by his grandfather. The board school is run by Shekhar (Abhi Bhattacharya). Shekhar tries to instill good values in the students using unorthodox teaching methods. He gains the students' trust and educates them about the heritage of their country and encourages them to become model citizens. At the boarding school, Ajay continues his ways and gets into trouble all the time, including with Shekhar. Meanwhile, Ajay meets and befriends a crippled boy named Shakti (Rattan Kumar) whose character is the opposite of Ajay. Shakti tries very hard to help Ajay change his ways, but Ajay's stubborn nature gets in the way. Finally one day, Ajay attempts to leave the hostel and Shakti finds out. Shakti tries to go after him and stop him but his handicap slows him down and his earnestness to get Ajay back causes him to lose track of the heavy traffic on the road. That is when Shakti is run over in a horrific accident. This was the triggering moment in Ajay, realizing that it was because of his stubbornness, Shakti died. His moves him to change and become a better person. He goes on to excel in academics and sports. Meanwhile, Shekhar's method of teaching wins approval by the education board in the end. He decides to leave the boarding school to spread his message elsewhere through his unorthodox but successful ways. Shamshad Begum - Kabhi Aar Kabhi Paar - Aar Paar [1954] "Aar Paar" (English: This or That) is a 1954 Indian Hindi-language film. Directed by Guru Dutt the film has music by O.P. Nayyar and lyrics by Majrooh Sultanpuri. A light hearted movie ( very unlike Guru Dutt in his later years). The movie stars Guru Dutt, Johnny Walker, Shyama, Shakila (actress), Jagdeep, Jagdish Sethi, Bir Sakuja, Rajendra, Amir Banu, Rashid Khan, and M.A. Latif. Plot; Kalu, who spent time in a prison for a traffic offence, finds a job at an auto maintenance garage after his release and falls in love with the daughter of the owner. But things begin to get out of hand when he is fired from his job and is then unknowingly hired as the driver of a gang. A sophisticated comedy filled with stylish dialogue and speedy action................... Shamshad Begum (April 14, 1919) is an Indian singer who was one of the first playback singers in the Hindi film industry. She was conferred the Padma Bhushan in 2009. Begum was born in Amritsar, Punjab. She was a big fan of K.L. Saigal and watched Devdas 14 times. She earned 15 rupees per song and was awarded 5000 on the completion of the contract on Jenaphone. Sometime back, a controversy erupted in the media, when several publications, gave the false news of her death, before it was clarified that the Shamshad Begum who died in 1998 was Saira Banu's (Dilip Kumar's wife) grandmother with the same name, and the legendary singer, has been living with her daughter Usha Ratra and son-in-law in Mumbai, ever since her husband, Ganpat Lal Batto died in 1955. Recently, she celebrated her 89th birthday at her elder sister's house and now she stays at Powai, Mumbai.... Begum became a national rage between the 1940s and the late 1950s rendering songs with her nasal voice, which helped her carve her independent image--a voice different from her peers, Lata, Asha, Geeta, and Amirbai Karnataki.....
