Pakistan Army Song - Janma hay tuj ko Waten Kay Leya (War against terrorism)

Terrorism has become a complex global phenomenon. It is challenging national security and generating hatred amongst nations and its people. At present, war against terrorism, whether it is operation against terrorist or terrorist attacking the forces, the result has created the same consequences. Like rest of the world this has affected the life of people living in Pakistan. Hundreds of innocent people are killed and are suffering. The fanaticism coming in Pakistan society is fall out of Afghan civil war. Extensive steps have been taken to ensure that terrorists present on Pakistans soil are eliminated. Pakistan is doing far more than its share in War against Terrorism. Nations can dream of their socio-economic progress and development only when they are sure that their guardians are strong enough to ensure protection and peace. In case of Pakistan, a strong defence was all the more a stark reality to face the encounters and hostilities with unflinching courage. Our chivalrous soldiers of brave Armed Forces, apart from defending the countrys borders, always remained in the forefront of national development. Whether floods, earth-quakes and other natural calamites, maintain law and order or the UN peace efforts, the performance of our officers and men, always earned national and international acclaim from their friends and foes alike.Selfless bravery sacrifice and monumental endurance of adversity are the pillars of this splendid institution. ------------------------ follow us on facebook: http://www.facebook.com/PakArmyChannel Pakistan Zindabad Pak Army Paindabad.

The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine by Dr. Ilan Pappe - Part 4

http://www.ilanpappe.org The present dismal reality unfolding in the Middle East has clear historical roots and a journey into the past may help to illuminate what lies behind the destructive policies of Israel in both Palestine and Lebanon. Zionism arrived in Palestine in the late 19th as a colonialist movement motivated by national impulses. The colonisation of Palestine fitted well the interests and policies of the British Empire on the eve of the First World War. With the backing of Britain, the colonisation project expanded, and became a solid presence on the land after the war and with the establishment of the British mandate in Palestine (which lasted between 1918 and 1948). While this consolidation took place, the indigenous society underwent, like other societies in the rest of the Arab world, a steady process of establishing a national identity. But with one difference. While the rest of the Arab world was shaping its political identity through the struggle against European colonialism, in Palestine nationalism meant asserting your collective identity against both an exploitative British colonialism and expansionist Zionism. Thus, the conflict with Zionism was an additional burden. The pro-Zionist policy of the British mandate there naturally strained the relationship between Britain and the local Palestinian society. This climaxed in a revolt in 1936 against both London and the expanding Zionist colonisation project. At the end of November 1947, the UN offered to divide Palestine into two states almost equal in their territorial space. The Jews were only one third of the population by 1947 and most of them had arrived in Palestine only a few years earlier. The categorical Palestinian refusal to go along with this deal, backed by the Arab League, allowed the Zionist leadership to plan carefully the next step. Between February 1947 and March 1948, a final plan for ethnic cleansing was prepared. The Zionist leadership defined 80 percent of Palestine (Israel today without the West Bank) as the space for the future state. This was an area in which one million Palestinians lived next to 600,000 Jews. The idea was to uproot as many Palestinians as possible. From March 1948 until the end of that year the plan was implemented despite the attempt by some Arab states to oppose it, which failed. Some 750,000 Palestinians were expelled, 531 villages were destroyed and 11 urban neighbourhoods demolished. Half of Palestine's population was uprooted and half of its villages destroyed. The state of Israel was established in over 80 percent of Palestine, turning Palestinian villages into Jewish settlements and recreation parks, but allowing a small number of Palestinian to remain citizens in it. The June 1967 war allowed Israel to take the remaining 20 percent of Palestine. This seizure defeated in a way the ethnic ideology of the Zionist movement. Israel encompassed 100 percent of Palestine, but the state incorporated a large number of Palestinians, the people who Zionists made such an effort to expel in 1948. The fact that Israel was let off easily in 1948, and not condemned for the ethnic cleansing it committed, encouraged it to ethnically cleanse a further 300,000 Palestinians from the West Bank and the Gaza strip.

Pakistan Army Drama Wilco - Part 18

Multimedia http://paffalcons.com/multimedia/index.php Pakistan Army Drama Wilco was another milestone. Wilco is a joint venture of Inter services Public Relation (ISPR) and 7th Sky Entertainment. The story of the drama serial was based on true events of Bravery, Sacrifice and Courage. Wilco was a treat for the television audience who had been deprived of the quality entertainment. Its powerful direction that depicted our vivid land through the lens, captured the diversity of locations from the desert of Thar, lush green valleys of Muzzafarabad to the River Tavi in Sialkot, all the way to the snow clad mountain in the north, near the Nanga Perbat Base camp. Wilco is a perfect balance in the military and civil way of life. It depicted in most striking way the service, hardships and the contribution of Pakistan Army, not just during war time, but also during natural calamities and disasters. Wilco has been produced by Abdullah Qadwani and Humayun Saeed, directed by Ahson Talish and penned by Mohammad Ahmed. Lt Colonel Syad Mujtaba Tirmizi was the Executive Producer of this drama serial. Cast of Wilco includes Humayun Saeed, Adnan Siddiqui, Ahson Talish, Laila Zuberi, Raju Jamil, Ainne, Amna Sheikh, Beenish Chohan, Capt. Dr, Lubna, Imran Abbass, Danish Taimur, Rashid Farooqi, Rashid Mahmood, Seemi Raheel and Zainab Qayum. It is pertinent to mention that the Drama Wilco was one of the most popular programmes made on Armed Forces. Besides this, many other joint ventures between ISPR and 7th Sky Entertainment are under way. We are always with our brave and proud soldiers, and, in any crisis, we will be there within seconds to fight for the nation and the country. The production of this serial has provided us a great opportunity to observe our forces and their routine very closely. [Courtesy: Inter services Public Relation]

القوات الجوية العربية السوري-Syrian Arab Air Force.

History The end of World War II led to a withdrawal of the United Kingdom and France from the Middle East, and this included a withdrawal from Syria. In 1948, the Syrian Air Force was officially established after the first class of pilots graduated from flight schools in Britain. The embryonic force saw limited participation in the 1948 Arab-Israeli War, conducting bombing raids against Israeli forces and settlements. One North American Harvard was lost to ground fire while attacking Ayelet Hashahar on July 16, and another possibly shot down by Morris Mann (flying an Avia S-199) on June 10. The Syrian Air Force claimed it sole kill of the war on July 10 when a Harvard supposedly shot down an Avia S-199 flown by Lionel Bloch. The 1950s saw Syria and Egypt attempt to unify as the United Arab Republic, this was reflected in the Syrian Air Force with growth in personnel and aircraft. However, this union would not last. With the ascent to power of the Baath Party and Hafez Al-Asad, himself a former SAF Commander-in-chief, Syria began looking to the members of the Warsaw Pact for help and built closer ties with the USSR. This in turn led to a massive influx of Eastern-made equipment to the Syrian Armed Forces, including the Air Force. The Syrian Air Force, despite its training and capabilities never fared well against Israel. In the Six-Day War, the Syrian Air Force was defeated rapidly, losing two-thirds of its forces with the rest retreating to bases in remote parts of Syria. This in turn helped the IDF in defeating the Syrian Army on the ground and led to the loss of the Golan Heights. The Yom Kippur War provided initial success for both Syria and Egypt, though again Israel inflicted far more casualties in the air than it endured. During the war the Pakistani Air Force sent 16 pilots to the Middle East in order to support Egypt and Syria. By the time these arrived, however, Egypt had already opted for a ceasefire, while only Syria remained in a state of war against Israel. Eight (8) PAF pilots subsequently started flying out of Syrian airbases, forming the A-flight of 67 Squadron at Dumayr Airbase. The Pakistani pilots flew Syrian MiG-21 aircraft on CAP missions, during which Flt/Lt. A. Sattar Alvi shot down an Israeli Mirage in air combat. Other aerial encounters involved Israeli F4 Phantoms; Alvi was decorated by the Syrian government while the Pakistani pilots stayed on in Syria until 1976, training Syrian pilots in the art of air warfare. Following the Yom Kippur War, the Syrian Air Force continued to remain in the Eastern sphere of influence, whereas Egypt abandoned Eastern aid, and began building its Air Force with Western-made equipment. During the 1982 Lebanon War, the Syrian Air Force fought against the Israeli Air Force, in the largest scale air-to-air combat of the jet age, involving 150 fighters from both sides. In three days of sustained jet fighter combat, the Syrians were heavily defeated by the higher technology Israeli opponent. However, at low level the Syrian Air Force made significant strikes using Aerospatiale Gazelle helicopters in anti-armour missile attacks against Israeli ground forces. Approaching Ein Zehalta, an Israeli tank column on a difficult road, was stopped for some hours by SyAF Gazelle missile strikes. Modernization Since then, the Syrian Air Force has continued to rebuild with Eastern-made equipment. However the full extent of this rebuilding is not known. Nor are the exact numbers of planes or what types of aircraft are in the Air Force. This is due to the amount of secrecy maintained by the Syrian government in regard to its military. It is known though that the Syrians have procured MiG-29s and Su-24s which should give its Air Force a great boost, though rumours regarding the recent purchase of some Su-27s appear to be unfounded. In 2008 the Syrian Air Force was reportedly taking deliveries of 8 examples of the MiG-31E from Russia, as well as the MiG-29SMT and Yak-130,although delivery of the MiG-31s may have been cancelled by Russia due to pressure from Israel.

First Squadron of JF-17 Thunder Inducted in Pakistan Air Force - Long Live Pakistan

Another major milestone was achieved when the first Squadron of JF-17 Thunder formally joined fighter aircraft fleet of Pakistan Air Force on Thursday. A ceremony for the formal induction of JF-17 Thunder aircraft was held at one of the PAF's operational bases. Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force was the chief guest on the occasion. The Chief of the Air Staff while addressing the Airmen, congratulated the nation and the PAF personnel on the momentous occasion. "The formal induction of JF-17 aircraft in the PAF is in line with our resolve to face all challenges with poise and self- confidence. The PAF has invested in the force multipliers like the Air-to-Air refuellers, UAVs and AEW&C aircraft to enhance our capacity and capability to undertake complex operations," he said. "These new state-of-the-art inductions make it imperative that we train hard and prepare well to induct and integrate the new systems professionally and safely. The chievements of PAF leave no doubt in my mind that we are immensely capable and, as a team, can set and achieve still higher standards". "We are a peaceful nation with no aggressive designs and want to maintain peace with honour in our region. We are inducting new systems to keep pace with technology and maintain credible conventional balance of force, without which peace cannot be ensured in South Asia," the Air Chief said. He said that the JF-17 would be put through its paces in the forthcoming Exercise Hi-Mark 2010. The `JF-17 Thunder' has the capability to undertake entire spectrum of offensive as well as defensive missions. By joining the elite ranks of PAF, the JF-17 would not only enhance the combat readiness of PAF but also form its back-bone in future. The ceremony culminated when an A-5-III fighter led three JF-17 Thunder aircraft in a flypast following which a single JF-17 performed aerobatics over the venue.
