Arabesque - Bye Bye My Love By jorge4548 The all-girl trio Arabesque was created by two Frankfurt-based German producers at the height of the disco era in 1977. After one album and a few singles that had found surprising success in Japan, the producers changed the lineup, keeping Michaela Rose and replacing the two other girls with Jasmin Vetter and Sandra Lauer. Vetter, a former gymnast, also became the trio's choreographer and Lauer, soon to be billed simply as Sandra, assumed the position of a lead vocalist. The first single of the updated Arabesque, Hello, Mr. Monkey went to number one in Japan. The Far East remained the band's biggest market, with numerous albums and compilations released over the years. However, Arabesque's success in their homeland was very modest, with only one single, Marigot Bay, entering the German charts at number eight in 1981. In 1984, they disbanded and Sandra embarked on a successful solo career with the songs written by her future husband Michael Cretu (of Enigma fame.) Jasmin Vetter and Michaela Rose formed a new duet, Rouge, but after a few obscure singles it ceased to exist. The Race - Yello By Elconquistador69too Groovy! In 1988 the single was released in 7", 12" and CD5 formats through out the world, and additionally as a cassette single in other places. The limited edition single contained a remix by Paul Dakeyne. The following year, the track was remixed again by Carl Segal and released as a couple of promotional-only 12" singles, coupled with Emilio Pasquer's versions of Blazing Saddles. The song entered the UK Singles Chart at #31 and by its fifth week, it had peaked at #7. It is their biggest hit in the UK. In 1992, The Race was release as a single a second time, to coincide with the greatest hits collection, Essential. The Race appeared in remix form again in 1999 for the Eccentrix Remixes compilation, following the release of their Pocket Universe album. In 2003, the Tomcraft remixes of The Race appeared on the single for [Planet Dada], released from their album, The Eye. Finally, in 2007, a brand new version of the track was created by the band in order to promote DHL and Formula 1 racing. Called 'The Race II', the digital single was made available free for download over the internet, and released as a promo CD single. Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning Tribute By frightnightfan A video I made in appreciation of yet another franchise entry that's unfairly the black sheep. I think there are worse Jason movies than this one, but people seem to think otherwise. In my opinion, it's the last true Friday the 13th - it felt like the ones before it, had the same atmosphere, the same fun to it (although this one had a dark humor to it). Honestly, I think most people just can't get over that it's not Jason responsible for the killings. It's enjoyable, and I think people overlook it and what it offers. I think John Shepherd's the best lead of a Friday film... Danny Steinmann gives the movie a dark edge... There's Tiffany Helm and Debi Sue Voorhees... and Miguel A. Nunez, Jr.'s brief, but memorable part. It's one of only two Jason movies I can even remember the character names for, so that should say something.
