Metal Slug 3 Score Research Mission 1 By BLK0314 Level : 4 Autofire : Off Ending Score : 838,620 The game is finished in 1 life with save/load state in the beginning of 8 segments of Kawaks replay in order to lower mental burden. Of course the record is not valid. The video is only for strategy reference or discussion. After long-term practice, most strategies are thought feasible in arcade. But the replay is made in May 2005. It might be out of date for some experienced players. Indeed, recently I've found out some excellent players studied better strategies, but here I'll mainly concentrate on describing skills which helped me make my best record. Besides, I'll point out mistakes and risky strageties in the video. Also, welcome to point out the weakness. ---Scoring Guide--- 1. Given that a pistol or H gun bullet causes damage by 1 per 100pts, then a stab causes that by 3 per 500 pts. Before you stab an enemy, try to use these bullets until the remainder of the enemy's durability divided by 3 is 1 because it won't lower the stabs that enemy can stand. Although I didn't do this well in my whole game, I won't mention it again. 2. Grenade smoke only causes damage by 0.1 per 100pts, so it's also beneficial. Notice that each grenade contributes to 2 smoke attacks. 3. At video time 6:03, Avoiding H gun seems dangerous, so I quit it. There are many other skills, and I will introduce them in later videos. Besides, I'll point out mistakes in the video. Also, welcome to point out the weakness. ---Key Concept--- The main concept for high score in MS2 is usually simple but unusual in the MS series. Under many circumstances, you can shoot your bullets on the enemy's to receive points. Instead of considering how to kill the reasonably most enemies and obtain the idealest points from each of them, you should more frequently ponder how to get the most score during a limitted period. Thus, inefficient ways to kill enemies or get poor score must be ruled out. I've done my best, anyway. Near the end, If the tank didn't get hit 2 times, I would move to the central area to pock up more coin. Since the level is 8, some segments badly demands reflexes, but I didn't mind very much if I perfectly wipe out the enemies there.
